Title: Transducer placement on NX750
Post by: flippinout on June 29, 2008, 05:59:30 PM
I'm getting ready to install a new Lowrance 522 Igps on my rig.  Anyone have any ideas on the best place to start when installing the transducer on the transom?

I had BPS do mine and they put it in the hull.  Not sure of what type of water you fish most often but mounting it in the hull will eliminate the worry of it getting knocked of by a stump/log what have you while on the water.

If you want to put it on the outside make sure the spot is always in the water even on plan and you want to make sure it's level.  IMO some place close to the motor mounts because it will need clear water as well, anything up on the side while on pad or possibly even during a fast troll the water coming off the back of the boat could get to stirred up to get good reading.
