Title: ABA 2009
Post by: Stan on October 04, 2008, 12:54:58 PM
Can any of you guys see the 2009 schedule for the Central Coast?  Every time I try to look at it it says URL not found.  If you can see the schedule could you post it here so I can look at it.  Thanks!

Talked to Carolyn yesterday and she said that the reason Central Coast has no schedule is because they had to get all of their permits re-issued.  She also said that they should have the schedule up soon and that it will begin in June, that's right June,  all of the tournaments will be Sat-Sun tournaments.

Yep, do Stren, than do ABA, no conflicts!  Might have to see what else can fit in though, it will be tough to stay off the local scene for that long!

Did you go fishing at all since the last time we spoke?  Margarita continues to produce some big fish right now, Jeff Hodges caught a 13lb fish last Saturday.  A few weeks before that Ron Reccord, I am guessing some relation to Todd Reccord caught a new lake record I think it was 13.2lbs

Make sure you stay away from those Reno 911 cops, especially the guy in the tight shorts.................. lo

Nope haven't been.  I had planned on going this week but with Christmas and everything it just never worked out.  Guess I'll have to get a new license next time I go.

No went to Cachuma.  Got the big SKUNK.......... ~rant  I missed one bite and I broke off about a 3lb fish on a jig.  The only reason I know it was at least 3lbs is after I broke him off on the hook set he came up twice trying to throw my jig.

Too much power with that 8 footer?   ;D  jk

No, I haven't been out since that day at Naci.  I have some days off coming during the holidays, but if I go it'll be with Dustin, so no real serious trips unless on a Saturday.  If this cold front will lay off, I would like to go to SM or maybe Naci again.  I hope the water is higher at Oroville, but still I want to be really dialed in on spots for this first tournament.  I don't use spinning tackle too much, but with spots and light line you gotta do it.

Yea, I think it was a combination of 8' rod, drag set to tight, and fluorocarbon with hardly any stretch.

MERRY CHRISTMAS Y'ALL.

Dean
If I can swing it I'd be up for a little line wetting Saturday.  Depends on where in the process of sheet rocking the laundry room I am..

Stan,
Stay warm and dry, watch the ice and have fun

Warmest regards to all

Cal, give me a call if you are o.k. with going Saturday.  I will probably not leave too early since it is just for fun.  Maybe like 0600 and we'll be there an hour after daylight or so?  Not sure how much rain they have gotten so I don't want to run it until there is enough daylight.

Graylight, I don't think Dustin is one of your Bro's unless you are in the second grade.  ;D  Sorry, couldn't resist...  Dustin is my 8 year old who I usually take when he is out of school.  He isn't an addict like me, but likes to get out with dad and go fast in the boat.  As long as I catch fish, he is pretty happy but he catches some of his own on occasion.  If you are into catchin' spots you should head up there.  Hope to see you on the water.  What colors is your 188?

Small jigs, robo worms, crankbaits, ripbaits, small swimbaits... spots like to eat.  ;D  What to do each day varies with conditions.  The lake is totally new right now as it is around 40' low.  What are usually community holes aren't anything great.  The last time I was up there you just had to find shad moving (end of Nov they were in 8-20 feet)  Everywhere you found shad schooling up, you'd get smoked on a ripbait like a staysee. Another day there might be zero reaction bite if it is cold or the shad aren't doing much.  Then just go to the jig or worm and keep it wet.
