Title: Lums Pond - 10/12/08
Post by: easternshore on October 13, 2008, 01:42:04 PM
Awesome day yesterday at Lums Pond during a club tournament. Lots of guys caught some fish. I finished with a total of four weighing just shy of 11 pounds. Fish were hitting crankbaits in the morning to mid-morning at creek mouths and points. Later in the day caught my lunker, 3-3 on the golden rule, with the NEW Explosive Tackle 1/2 oz. Football jig in Purple/Chartreuse, on shady brush piles in shallow water.

The boat ramp is the worst i have ever seen. We had a ranger, triton, and Legend get hung up on the ramp, but each made it on and off OK, The trackers had some difficulty if you didn't have the power in your tow vehicle. Here's where i plug the GMC Envoy, love it! Anyway, the ramp needs work and we have probably fished our last tournament there as we are growing in numbers as a club and we don't want to damage any of the larger boats there.

pics of 2 of my best four...I'm thinking i am starting to figure that place out now. Did lose two and one was a pig! Lunker of the day was over 5 but only measured 4-10 on the Golden Rule.

Dave,
Sounds like and awesome trip. Sorry I missed it work can be unpredictable at times. Glad to see the jigs are working also. Hopefully more and more will be caught using them!!!!

Nice fish!!  i've got an off topic question for you.  Anyone ever fish Wagamans Pond in Milton?  If so is it worth the time?  Any info you could provide is appreciated.  Thanks.
