Hopefully by then I'll get to do some fishing on the rougher waters.  no rocking for me, and with more surgery in a couple of months it will be before the end of the year before I can go onto larger water.  Base lake is all I can muster at this time and they are in the worst condition since I moved heer in 88, Looked at Punch Bowl today and it is so low the docks are 20-30 feet from the water, the water to the left of the island is dry, the logs and trees on the left at the point are high and dry and it smells foul, very foul.
Went to #1 PC but it's so over weeded the only area fishable was any small hole to the bottom of the mats.  I tried punchin with a 3/4 to 1 oz weight but most time it never hit the bottom.  Managed 8 typical cookie cutter 10-11 inch fish

How's retrirement???  you working yet or are you like Stan work a little, fish alot?  lo lo lo

Retirement is great but I am currently looking for a job.  I plan on going back to school in Sept to get my bachelors so that I can eventually get back into the Training Group as either a GS-11 or GS-12.

Life is good isn't it.  I'm sitting poolside in San Antonio at a very swank hotel.  Went to Basspro Cabelas and Academy outdoors.  We will be back in another week and doing some fun fishing.  Probably head to Clear Lake about a week in advance.

Tom. were thinking we should cherry pick Pacific again and fish central or do you want to fish pretty much both and fish from Jan-Aug.

I need it to rain..... ~xyz ~xyz ~xyz
Texas is getting pounded right now, where is ours?  ~rant ~rant
Now that I wont be going TDY this year I'll be able to fish a couple of different ones and not be stuck on Central Coast.

Anyone need a swimbait rod, I'm selling one of my 7'6"  Okuma EHSBR, rated for 2-8 oz baits.   Going for $75, still 9/10 condition

ANOTHER BATTERY QUESTION FOR YA'LL.  i picked up my batteries today, both matching group 64s?, anyhow, my two bank OB charger on the boat says one set of leads for each battery, but I'm researching and it says to use 2 separate chargers and disconnect the batteries, isn't the OBC the same as two separate chargers?

Stan,

I say cherry pick because I really don't want to fish San Antonio.....but the rest for pacific look good and of course the central coast looks great..........you gotta love Cachuma, right chris.......... ;)

Cal,
What batteries did you end up getting.  I have Interstate Marine/RV SRM-27 600CCA 750MCA.  I have had those in my boat since I got the boat which was in Feb 05.  I told Stan when I was out at Lopez the other day they didn't seem to be as strong.  I guess I will find out this Saturday but I know I am pushing it since they are 4 years and 7 months old.

Well Cal it was over when GoldCoast ended.  Tom and I have been fishing ABA for the last 3 years as a team and next year will be our 4th.  It was a good five year run with GC but they went and disbanded the club  :'(.

Cal,

What about those batteries.  What name brand, how much did you pay and where did you get them?

they were from Interstate on Blosser in SM, cost was $210.00 for both, they are deep cell, group 27, 750 amh.  You running two in parrellel for extended use as 12 volts or are you running them as 24 volt series system?

my trolling motor is 24v.  Yea I just called them and I am headed there now to pick up two.  I figured get the same kind since they lasted almost 5 years.  they are actually over 5 years old according to the code on the battery but 4 years and 7 months that I know of in my boat.

They are 96.95 with my old ones exchanged.

Well I told you the other day when I was out at Lopez I didn't have much left in them at 1300, of course that was fishing in the wind most of the day.  I was gonna replace them before Clear Lake anyway so it might as well be today.  The bad thing if you wait with batteries is there is normally no advance warning.  My luck after two hours at margarita they would crap out.  I installed them this morning.  Like I said earlier almost 5 years, I think I got pretty much all I could ask for out of them.  Cal did you ask for the military discount?  I got two batteries for 200.00 out the door.
