Title: Hotfoot in a 482 or Z-6
Post by: tmlrock2001 on November 27, 2009, 03:35:07 PM
I am going to install a hotfoot in my 482 and was wondering what lenght of throttle cable to use. Thay say to use one 2 feet longer but they also say to leave the old one in the boat so how do you know how long it is?

Why don't you call your dealer and simply ask if they can measure one if they have one in stock, or look it up and see if the length is listed?

Or see if you can find a factory throttle cable listed for sale on the internet.  They might have the length listed.

I just had my hot foot installed on my 98 700lx at my local dealership. I bought a 2 foot longer throttle cable. I think my factory throttle cable was 13 feet so I bought a 15ft throttle cable. I also had them install a trim control lever behind my steering wheel. It looks really clean and is very easy to use while driving. I really like it because I can keep both of my hands on the steering wheel. I feel like I have more control. I dont know if they left the stock throttle cable attached, but I would guess that they did not since they replaced it witht he 15ft cable. Hope this helped.

Sorry I forgot. The way I figured out how long my throttle cable was is I just called my dealership and told them my boat information and they were able to tell me how long it was. Just call your dealership they will be able to help you out.
