Dean and Cal,
How was Naci on Monday? did you guys end up going?
Is that even a Lake anymore? ~goof
Dean went, I couldn't. Can't call it a lake anymore, even with the recent rains they opened the gates even more to draw down what came in. Morons
Dean fished 9 hrs for 2 fish in the boat.
its called Nacimiento Creek now.
Is that a spoon lake?
You could probably catch them there on a spoon. But the spoon bite has been off this winter for me.
Hey Tom did you know there is a AC at Cachuma next weekend?
Yea, I know about Cachuma. Don't you remember when I sent you all the AC and ABA schedule dates. After looking at everything we had said why join Anglers Choice again to maybe fish 1 or 2 tournaments when we can just stay with ABA and start Cachuma in March with Pacific coast and now we have CBC in Feb.
Went to Naci this weekend. I caught 1 and Mike killed me with 5. We saw the greatest thing ever. Mike throat hooked 1 bass and we spent a couple of minutes trying to help it. We put it in the live well and Rejuve it, but no luck. I told Mike we better get it out before we get busted for a short fish. He threw it back in the lake and as we watched the bass do it's final flops I was teasing Mike and his killing tatics, we heard this loud screech and this Bald Eagle swooped down, plucked the bass right out of the water and took it back to a tree and ate it. IT WAS PRETTY AWESOME. Mike and I was in total AWE. Mike doesn't feel bad anymore. That made my bad trip turn into a good one.
Chris,
Did you go Saturday or Sunday? Dean was up there on Saturday with AC I believe. Said it was the worst day of fishing he's had in a long time. Were you fishing the trny? I went to Cachuma Sun. Very slow day, lots of boats pre fishing for next sunday, same story small fish and not many. I caught only 2, one 2.5 LMB and a 11" SMB. Beautiful day on the lake for sure. Saw one baldy and tons of Ospreys just above the shore in the trees. Dean and I were up at Naci last week and saw a pair of Baldys next to each other until we got too close.
You saw an awesome display of their talents. Next time take a camera... lo
We went up on Sunday. It was about 1400hrs when Mike started to get bite after bite.
Cal are you and Dean still doing the ABA trny at Naci this coming weekend?
YEP. AND HOPEFULLY DO BETTER THAN WE HAVE IN THE PAST. THE RAIN WILL HOPEFULLY HELP
Good Luck! Don't forget to work your way into the pack on those prime spots.
if its anything like the AC Dean did, then we'll be bow to stern for 2/3 of the field in 5 spots lo lo
Tom did you see the ad for GS-12 at the 532.

Cal was that GS-12 on the internal list??
ACTUALLY I THINK IT WAS.
Cal or Dean,
Let us know how things went out there today.
Good job on getting 2nd place guys......... ~c~
Thanks, it sure shocked the ~xyz out of us. We figured the top ten, but then they kept calling lower weights and we kept getting higher in the standings.
Good day for Naci for sure. Now no trnys until the one at Cachuma in March
Well Mike and I can't say we did anything good. We caught 1 fish, winning weight was 7lbs with 3 fish. Kicker fish was 5 something. Half the field left early. Bite was tough, water looked like chocolate milk. The water came up 30 some feet. Overall it was a decent day but nothing to brag about.
Was that Tri-valley?? Did some kid fishing from an aluminum boat win?
Wow the rain must have really turned them off, usually it get them going but CA is hard to fisgure out sometimes. Props for sticking it out and not taking off like some. You never know what can happen in the last moments of a fishing day. Where's the next one?
There was only 3 or 4 boats that had 1 or more fish. I cant rememebr but I dont think there were any limits. The guys who won had the 5lbs kicker fish they caught it from the ramp. All the guys who placed fished the launch ramp all day. There was another tournament from BakersField not sure how they did but they came in 1 hour before we did. I think the next one is at Marg in Feb, not real sure of the date. I'll find out for ya.
It was a long day, we had 2 bites with 2 hours left. 1 came off at the boat and the other went in the Livewell. Both bites were with in 15 minutes. For a second I thought we were onto something. No luck.
Isn't the launch ramp off limits?
That's what I thought. But since they moved the marina to the other side of the lake with the gas pumps I guess it didn't matter.
