Title: Nitro Z7 Livewell
Post by: bob4360 on April 12, 2010, 06:55:16 PM
Sounds silly, but can some experienced 2010 Z-7 owner tell me how to operate the livewell system?  Mine's got a push-in/pull out valve of some type in the starboard livewell, but I'm not sure how to use it.  The owner's manual shows a different type of exterior switch to open/close the valve.  Thanks.

Bob welcome aboard.  Here is a link to Bass Boat Central regarding the Z-7 livewell in a 2009.  I have the 2008 and it confuses me as well.  Hope this helps out.

Sounds like a pump out system.  Pull it out and and it pumps the water out push it in and it recirculates.  I would try that.  I had 1 in my champion, but don't remember for sure if it was pushed in/pumps out or vice versa.

Don't forget to put the drain plug in the livewell also, easily overlooked.

On tournament days I will run the aerator on auto, and while running from hole to hole flip the recirc on (with the valve pulled out/pump out).  When the water pushes into the upper 90's, I have found this to be a very effective way to avoid any dead fish.
