I was out in my deck boat yesterday after being in storage for over six months. I got it started and took it on a long ride to burn out the gas to put in newer marine grade petro. My boat was running like a top purring along. After exploring areas 15 miles out in back of a creek we found a damn with moving water and caught some nice stripes. What a blast. However, when I went to start the motor the starter was stuck. My heart jumped a bit but I got it started and home we went. Whew! ~sweat Well I started thinking I did not have any tools in my boat and that not gonna happen again. :embarassed: I went to my BassCat and found only my jumper cables in the boat. I forgot to transfer some tools. So what tools do you guys keep your BassCats? I like to get your ideas to see if there is something I'm missing. Bring it!
Spare trolling motor prop and pin. Leatherman does most of everything I need.
I keep a full set of craftman sockets, in a box, also in there I keep screws drivers, wrenches, wire strippers, electical tape, fuses, light bulbs for running lights, flash light, jumper cables, and a few other nick nack tools. I am covered for everything, or atleast I think I am.
screwdrivers, sockets, pliers, electrical stuff like splicers and connectors, and some rope. Usually never need it but you never know. I used to keep one of those jump starters in there.... saved my butt one day when I forgot to charge my batteries and had to make a long run. No one around to jump a battery to so that thing was priceless that day.
Got my box together today. Good to go going forward.

From experience I've been down that road before. Lost my prop, or it spun off and that prematurely ended my day on the lake. Check this one out from GRR84. Now that is improvising and making good use of space on your boat.

If you'll put your tools in something waterproof the you can store them in the bilge so that they don't take up space in a compartment.

I'll post pics of my tool kit. Wonder if I put double sided adhesive velcro to secure it in the bilge area would it hold my tool box in place? What do you think?
I bet it will hold it just fine. My socket set slides down between the cranking battery an saddle tank just perfect.
One tool that all Cat owners should have is a #2 square drive screw driver.....BC likes to use the square screws all over the boat and usually use these on the trolling motors. I also have found that a universal screw driver with the #2 bit doesn't work always either especially if you have to remove your trolling motor pedal (MinnKota).

Bingo, 18x2 hit the nail on the head, so to speak. I also keep a set of jumper cables and a leatherman on board.
In every boat I've had I keep:
Med size cresent wrench
a few various sizes of open ends
Various screw drivers sizes both types
couple of shop towels
pliers
channel locks
vice grips
zip ties
electrical tape
extra TM prop and pin
length of rope in case TM rope breaks (550 cord)
Jumper cables
Prop wrench
tools are able to fit in small waterproof box and tucked away in the bilge area.
