Curious what you all use. Classic242 has had some great results with 303 Aerospace Protectant for in between wax jobs. Never heard of it and not sure where you can get it locally but I'm going to locate this one and give it a try. ~cf
Your typical auto parts stores should have it....Advanced Auto, Auto Zone...etc. At least they do around here. Never tried it though... 8)
Bass Boat Saver! My 07 PII shines like a new penny, used it since day one!
Bass boat saver. Legend owner but I bet a Cat loves the stuff just as much!

K2, Great looking boat and color scheme! ~c~ ~c~ ~c~
Larsen makes a product called "Boat Restore and Polish." It's super easy to use in a spray bottle and will make your boat and motor look almost brand new. It's pricey but it pays off in the long run.

I've read that is what BassCat recommends between a good old waxing.
Not a Basscat owner so hope you guys don't mind a question :) I use Lucas slick mist spray wax for the most part but always looking for something "better" . I have a bad problem with hull stains , my Ranger sits in the water sometimes for a week at a time when I stay at our camper on the lake and wonder if some of these products you guys are using will help prevent that as well ? I may have to resort to some sort of buffing compound or soft scrub to get the stains off then use a different wax cause Lucas works good above water but doesn't seem to work below waterline . Of course it's for auto use too :)

Bass Boat saver then the Collonite Products to wax. Collonite Fleetwax and McGuiars Flagship wax are hard to beat.
Bass Boat Saver on the seats but Lemon Pledge is also great.
For me it's Bass Boat Saver. Great stuff and locally made too.

I waxed my '09 when I brought it home the first time. The only reason being that it was a left over '09 and had been sitting around at the factory and at a dealership for about 5-6 months. Since then I have never waxed it. I use Bassboat Saver everytime I take it out of the water. Of course my boat is always stored inside under the cover tool.

BigWrench,
Hmm..... You are not talking scum line right? Maybe someone can comment? If not we need to get Doug McGee on here for some suggestions. I wonder if wet sanding or a polishing compound like BassCats, Aqua Buff 2000 would take care of that yellowing tint you are referencing.
Here you go...

Try Bio-Kleen oxidation remover.........if this doesn't work then a more complicated process is needed.

Tom,
At the scum line area and basically the whole rear transom is stained. I wipe it down after getting it out of the water . The pictures above were taken before wiping it down, due to the traffic in our campground I get it off the water and take it directly to the yard of our camper (500-1000 feet or so ) drop it and clean it up , the scum comes off great just some reddish staining. I'll try and get some high def pics of the area with plenty of light. I will try some of the ideas you guys are posting too ! Some good suggestions for sure !
Also would love to let Doug have my boat for a little while and work his magic on it ! Thanks guys , I knew the BassCat guys would have some suggestions ! :)
I have used the Collonite Cleaner to remove that line. It depends on how long it has been there and how much oxidation has occurred. This stuff is easy to work with and is a light cut. Not a heavy abrasive compound. I would also try the Starbrite Hull cleaner. All of the Starbrite products I have used have been great. They sell them at West Marine, Academy, and Wal-Mart. The Attwood brand at Wal-MArt is the same Starbrite stuff. Just repackaged for Wal-Mart as Attwood Brand.

That's what I use... but you can also use Bass Boat saver. It does the same thing. You'll have to order it off the web.

Are you referring to this stuff? If so all the auto parts stores around here carry it on the shelf.

I would post some pics of the Cougar Tom...but I don't know how for certain. This site seems lacking in instructions. Or I just can't find them. lo Do you have to host them on something like tiny pic or photobucket, then transfer them in?
Bill, It can be any website that can display a pic of your boat. I'll attempt to make this simple for you. Posting pics here is very similar to BBC.
1. Goto to your webpage that has pics of your boat. Be sure you have the pic of your boat displayed in it's largest view. Side Note: best results are Photobucket IMO. If you have pics on BassCat's site that will work too.
2. Going forward my reference is from my Mac so maybe someone with a PC might help here. On my Mac I push my "Ctrl" key and click (similar to selecting your pointer from your PC's Mouse too) with my Laptop's touch pad at the same time on your web page pic. A pop up window will appear. Select "Copy Image Address"
3. Go back to Ultimate Bass and make a post. Select the "Insert Image" button just below the "Bold" face button.
4. Past your "Image Address" between the brackets and you are good to go.
Hope that helps.
Bill,
I would also like to add that if you have a smart phone iPod or android based you can download an app called outdoor hub mobile and you
Upload pictures directly from your phone to the thread. Photobucket has an app too ! Makes it pretty easy for me at least to share photos!

Bama96,
I'm gonna get some and give it a shot for sure ! It's not really bad it's just that I " know it's there" and can see it if I look close lol. Stuff like that makes me crazy lol. Last weekend I was fishing way back in this cove full of logs and timber I was deep in it and a branch rubbed my boat way too hard and messed up my Ranger emblem on one side ! I'm gonna have to replace it now :(

Get you some turtle wax rubbing compound and an electric buffer. Takes some time but it works!!! I'm in the process with my Boat I have for sale and I wish I had found this years ago. THe hull looks WAY better in the areas I have finished. It's so much difference its SICK!!! I will post some before and after pics when I get finished. Oh.. and after it you need to apply a new coat of wax obviously.
I have a buddy with an 06 Puma that wet sands his every year. He then washes it with some stuff called DriWash. Waxes it thoroughly and driwashes it throughout the year. Boat looks brand new and he fishes it HARD all year.
Hope that helps!
Bater,
You be dead on accurate with the Turtle Wax with rubbing compound. I have used it with awesome success for blemishes many would take to Gel House Rock house for touch up that comes with a cost. That stuff is impressive for the do it your-selfer!
I can't wait to try some of these products guys ! It's just driving me batty lol ! Here are 2 pics I took tonight before I headed out to the lake , it is extremely shiny and smooth almost looks like it was orange stained and then waxed over , also had clean white run lines like some of the chemicals I have tried worked a little if I let it stay on and run down but not dull at all like its under the clear coat . I wanna try as hard as I can to keep this thing in great shape ! You never know i might have to trade it in on a big sleek Cat one day ! ;)

yep.... that's the kinda stuff I've been getting off with the rubbing compound. It will take some time and for a few minutes you may not think its working and then all of a sudden it looks like new. Let us know how it goes.
You guys rock ! All the ideas got
Me to thinking about buffing compounds and I realized I have a ton of stuff like that from working in the auto repair field all these years. So I used 3m finesse rubbing compound it came right off by hand and I followed that With my favorite wax product , it looks beautiful again ! Thanks so much everyone !

The 3M Finesse it is great stuff. Not real heavy cut and gets the surface nice and clean for wax. Good job! Looks new again. ~shade

I would try it by hand first as you can "burn" the gelcoat with too much pressure and an abrasive compound.
