Okay it's that time again. The Bassmaster Classic is a month away. Time to guess the winning weight of the BASSMASTER CLASSIC and win some baits!
This is the OFFICIAL THREAD. Please ONLY post your guess in this thread. No chatter or smack talk, just entries.
2018 Bassmaster Classic - Lake Hatwell 16-18 March 2018
Do your research to determine what you think the winning weight might be. Remember, this is a three day event (not four like the regular season). So 3 days of 5 bass limits (15 ) Lake Hartwell Bass. The Classic was held on Hartwell in 2015, but it was earlier and very cold. This year it should be warmer and the bass may be shallow to spawn. Largemouth may come into the equation instead of just spotted bass.
Here's how the contest works:
You make your guess of what the winning weight will be in LBS / OZ for this year's BASSMASTER CLASSIC and you wager a bait as an entry fee. By playing, you agree to mail the bait directly to the winner, who will post his address upon being declared the winner. The more people who play - the bigger the winnings are!
Jocko is the Point of Contact for this contest. He, or a board moderator, will summarize the guesses periodically. Edited wagers will be disqualified. This is a fun game for all to play honestly and fairly.
The contest closes 4 am EST March 16th (just prior to the day one launch). The contest will be decided when they crown the Classic Champ on March 18th. There will be NO accommodations or adjustments for fog delays or full days cancelled by weather, high water, etc. Or if the venue gets changed to a different body of water. The winning weight is the winning weight, as published by B.A.S.S. If it goes to a sudden death fish off and the winner is declared by catching the first fish, the winning weight is the weight posted on bassmaster.com for the final results for everyone to view.
So again, this thread is the Official Contest Thread where you should post your guess. ONLY POST CONTEST ENTRIES to this thread.
Make your guesses like: Remember you can't have 16 oz (16oz is 1 lb) , so its LBS / 1-15 oz
"LBS/OZ" "UB NAME" "BAIT WAGER"
Good Luck !

I am not certain how this will figure into the weights for this tournament, but the lake has been rising constantly for the past two or three weeks. It appears that they are trying to bring the lake levels back up close to full pool. We have had almost constant rain here for the past month and the lake is showing it. The lake is now almost back to full pool. below is a chart showing how it has risen this year.
Because of the 10 and 12 foot below normal levels throughout the summer last year, there is a lot of grass, weeds, etc. growing on on the mud bars out away from the bank that will be under water now. It will make for more difficult fishing but could make for a better catch. I guess time will tell.
Thanks for the info Brad and this might be a close one.

**** CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED ****
GOOD LUCK!
OK I am set up right. If Christie catches 17-18 lbs I win. ButI have been here before and someone blows day 3 out and screws me up.
Jordan Lee wins with 47-01
Since we ALL went over, I say let's consider ourselves losers and keep our baits for next year when hopefully we can all do better!!! ::)
Congrats to Jordan Lee on the win ~c~
Jocko, I concur. Tks for putting this together this year ~shade.
Kid's a stud.
Same with me. It was fun tryin' tho'.
Thanks for doing the contest jocko!
Looking forward to the next one. :)
Look Guys, not many contests give the money back if no one wins. I suggest that we put our bets to work and send them to someone who will use them for a youth fishing program. Many of us are aware that Analfisherman conducts an outing each year for the kids in his area. As I recall this includes giving them some baits to use etc. and folks like Analfisherman show them how to fish and use the baits. A program that like that would be a good target for our lost bets. Lets use this opportunity to pay it forward or pay up as it were. If there are another programs like this one around the country then you should feel free to nominate them as well. JMHO I certainly would like some feedback from the betting group about doing this.

You know folks.........THAT IS EXTREMELY GENEROUS......and yes I won like two years ago and ya, all the won baits went to the kids from the Big Brother Tourney we do every year........PLUS THE TONS OF BAITS THAT EVERYONE THRU IN EXTRA!!!!!!!! :shocking:
BUT IT WOULD BE TOTALLY UNFAIR FOR SOMEONE WHO DIDN'T EVEN PARTICIPATE TO GET ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was going to play.......I will gamble on anything ;) lo.........but I kept putting it off.....and putting it off........cause you know I HAVE TO RESEARCH EVERYTHING.......and I didn't get it done.....HELL, I even started the research WED. .........but didn't get it done....next thing I knew.....it's SAT. Morning........and they are launching off.
SO I PRETTY MUCH HAVE TO TECHNICALLY DECLINE.......there are folks who don't even know me because of being new........and even more who DO KNOW ME.......but totally regret it!!!!!! ;) ;D
You folks are so very KIND AND GENEROUS.......it brings tears to my eyes!!!
But again, it in NO WAY would it be fair for the CONTESTANTS who took the time to research and make an educated guess on the results!!!!!!!
Bud and EVERYONE.....thanks for the thought......and YOU ALL WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS TONIGHT!!
Well... technically Bud you had the closest weight......js

Bottom line id I am ok with whatever is decided.

I made the command decision to just have everyone hold their baits since we all went over and lost. Never did I think the weights would be so low. Local tourneys were catching 20 lb sacks!
So all wagered baits belong to those who entered to do what ever they decide to do with them.
If there is a youth program that needs tackle donations, please post up on the main page. We are a generous crew and I know many would send some baits. Just start a new thread to put it out there.
Thanks all for playing. Someone should have low balled a guess! ~b~

Here's something that might be worth looking into. Seems fitting since it's LA.

. Anal, the totally regret it Line had me in sticthes, But why don't you take this opportunity to mention your program and mention donations welcome
Nats, I wish to thank you!
And I would like to THANK YOU PUBLICLY FOR IT.
So everyone is aware what a GREAT GENEROUS PERSON YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE........
Nats back in early Feb. PMed me and asked about this years Tourney/Outting.
He asked for my address......and sent the kids a great selection of baits.....
PLUS A BRAND NEW IN THE BOX SPINNING REEL! :shocking: :o
In the selection of baits he even INCLUDED some custom plastics.....MADE IN LACROSSE, WI.
and that's where we now run the Big Brother/Sister outting,
These are not your normal plastics......one pack called 'Lethal Experience 5'......it's a 'Wacky Worm Pour' that actually has quarter inch Marabou Hair strips coming out of each end of the worm.
Not like on a Jig but just two-three individual hairs.
VERY UNIQUE CONCEPT! :)
It was a very big surprise!!!!!!!
I'm not real good at 'asking' for things.......when I won the Classic bid and a Tips contest one year......somewhere some how......I must of shared in a PM with one of our GREAT MEMBERS what the intentions of using the bounty for.
That person went public with it.......AND THE MEMBERSHIP WENT TO WORK.....THEY DONATED A SMALL FORTUNE IN BAITS!!!! :shocking:
For those that want to know what this party/outting is all about......and the GENERPSITY OF THE MEMBERSHIP.....and what Nats is talking about......here's a thread from the 2016 outting....can't locate the 2017 update........took me like an hour to find this one!!!!! >:D ~roflmao
This is no small take a kid fishing deal........our intentions are to help a kid 'FALL IN LOVE WITH FISHING' ALONG WITH THE JOY OF THE OUTDOORS!
And we have had good results......."got three calls this month from past participants.....with questions on fishing and the outdoors"........and of course....when this years outting was going to be. ;D
So here's the link.

NATS, ONCE AGAIN WE THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
Nats,
That was a great job well done for the kids. But I must say that I am not surprised by your generosity.
Thank you for doing this and being one of UB's shining stars.
I am glad that you guys brought this up. I have seen guys giving the opportunity to donate in the past but have been racking my brain trying to figure who one of them was. Now I know.
Mr. Anal Sir, you have a PM.
Brad
Has anyone decided what we are going to do. I am good with whatever is decided upon.
We can keep them, consider the lowest weight as the winner, or donate them.

It was decided here as far as I am concerned. jocko started this thread and made the final decision.

Doesn't mean those who want to give them to whoever or what ever cause cant do so. They are your baits do as you please. But as far as this contest goes there was no winner based on the OP response.
Based on Jocko's ruling I already gave away the 2 crankbaits I wagered.
I think as the one who started the contest we need to let Jocko's ruling stand. But that doesn't mean anyone who wants to can't donate wherever they would like. :-*
I agree. Jocko ruling should stand. I am just not quite sure exactly how I missed his post. Maybe I should learn to read sometime before I retire....

You were busy having all that fun down at the Classic. I'd say that was worth missing a post or two for.
