Title: Belton Lake Cedar Ridge Area Coves 1 Nov 2020
Post by: Donald Garner on November 01, 2020, 08:34:59 PM
Good evening to all,

Dwayne and I made an afternoon trip over to Belton Lake for a short trip 2pm - 4:30pm.  We launched the Stratos out of Bass Landing over at BLORA over at Ft. Hood.  We made a run up to Cedar Ridge Area of the lake which is about half way (Mid Lake) up to the TX Hwy 36 Bridge.  I only seen maybe (6) bass boats out on the water during this trip.  The parking lots were almost empty as we drove by the ramps.

Weather Conditions
Blue Bird skies forecasted temps of 40 - 73dgrs with 40% Humidity.  The wind was out of the NE 8-11mph.

Lake Conditions
The lake is stained to clearing depending on your location.  Water Temps varied also 65 - 69dgrs depending on your location.

Locations fished / Structure / Baits use / Fish Caught
Started out fishing the Cedar Ridge Marina Creek Area.  We worked the bluff area for about 1/4 mile.  The wind was gusting pretty good and I got tired of fighting it.  We relocated to a cove on the East side of the marina area.
The area around this part of the lake is rocky with some bluffs,  scrub bushes and some cedar trees lying in the water off the bank.

We managed to boat (2) largemouth bass from this area.  I was making long cast across this under water gravel point.  Casting a Texas Rigged Sweet Beaver and dragging it across the rocky point.  The picture with the floating marker is the area were we caught our 2 bass.

Both were caught on a Sweet Beaver Creature Bait.  Both bass caught were the same year group class.   They were the same size.
