Title: Brush Hollow
Post by: toddmacc on March 26, 2008, 09:06:01 AM
I fished Brush Hollow for a few hours yesterday before I ran into trolling motor problems.  Any suggestions on boat shops in Colorado Springs would be appreciated.  I put in about 11:00 a.m. and the water was about 46 degrees.  By 2:00 p.m., the water had warmed a few degrees.  I caught a few small LM's on jigs fished around trees in 8 to 10 feet of water.  I struck out on jerk baits.  There's already a bunch of water there and more to come I'm sure.

Todd... give John Barron a call, he repairs trolling motors and has a shop at his home, 1102 Kingsley Drive in Colo Spgs.  His number is 596 7815 or cell 661 4245.  John is a past president of Pikes Peak Bassmasters and all around good guy!  He is also a factory authorized repair shop operator.

I am thinking about hitting Brush Hollow either Wednesday or Thursday of this week.  The water is still pretty cold but will try throwing some Lucky Craft pointers along the dam.  Drop shot the south side drop offs near that covered picnic area.  Also try a mini-carolina rig out in the middle.

Best Wishes,

Thanks for the info.  I already took the boat somewhere else.  I'll definitely keep the number though.  Since the boat was down, I went to Valco Ponds last week.   I hooked into some nice smallmouths and wipers.  Let me know how Brush Hollow goes.  I have a pretty good pattern down there once the water warms up.  I'm still trying to figure the fish out when the water is cold.  I've basically fished for trout my whole life and I've just recently gotten serious about bass so the information about where you're going to fish this time of year is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
