Title: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Jared LeBlue on May 27, 2005, 03:40:52 PM
We will have a pre-tournament meeting for everyone participating in the UBCS on Friday June 24 at Grand Bayou Resort. I don't know where exactely yet or the exact time but when we figure that out we will let yall know. This is just going to be a welcome to the tournament and go over the rules type meeting.

The meeting will probably be around 7 pm unless for some reason we have to have it earlier. I will get with Laurie and Mike and we will decide on the exact time and place. I know this it will be at the resort I just don't know at who's cabin. ;D I will post the time and place here as soon as I know for sure.

No,
but I wish we could, more of our TCTC boats on the water could block some of the honey holes while Rattle is having their club tournament.... >:D >:D >:D

I'm helping with a Kid's Tournament Day this Sat.......... no fishing this weekend, maybe some riding the kids around in demo rides......... :)

Curious - do we have an approximate count as to how many will be fishing the tournament?
Title: Re: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Mike Noble on June 16, 2005, 01:45:54 PM
The establishment...about 45 to 50 miles away.

Number fishing...I believe it is 36 or 38 or 40....but no more that 40.

Big news announcement

I talked with Deryl Janzen with Legend Boats on Wednesday. they are coming down on Friday (Deryl and the owner- I believe his name is Randy- not very sure) and bringing two boats for demo rides on Friday afternoon the 24th. Also, they are providing a Hot dog and hamburger supper for us at the pre-tournament meeting. I encourage everyone to meet with them and even if you decide not to take a test run with them go over and thank them. They are driving in that day and leaving that night. Now thats dedication, even knowing the limited participation down here they are still willing to show up........CMegee- Deryl specifically said he wanted to meet with you....If you aren't familiar with the boats go over to www.ridewithalegend.com (http://www.ridewithalegend.com) and see what they have...Not an endorsement just a heads up...........Dave

For those of us who will be driving down Saturday, what time will we launch?
Title: Re: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Mike Noble on June 20, 2005, 08:21:28 AM
Sunrise for Saturday is 6:09 a.m.  We are probably looking at a blast off of about 15 minutes prior to that...5:54 a.m.

We have not discussed yet...but I don't think we will be waiting for folks to launch before the blast off.  It will be each teams responsibility to get launched and ready to go.

I'm planning on being there. I tried to call Darryl Friday, but I had missed him at the factory.
Those are some awesome boats, he's been trying to get me in one. We'll see.

Bass Buff, try to plan on being there at 5 and in the water by 5:30 the ramp can get clogged quick and we want to make sure everyone is in the water on time :-*
Title: Re: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Jared LeBlue on June 20, 2005, 09:24:59 AM
Remember you have to be there 30 minutes before starting time to sign in. Basically everyone needs to be at the launch for 5:15. That will give us plenty of time to get everyone signed in and in the water.
Title: Re: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Mike Cork on June 20, 2005, 09:25:45 AM
Good point Rattle I forgot about that being in the rules  :-*
Title: Re: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Mike Noble on June 20, 2005, 09:54:19 AM
I am not sure you can launch 18 to 20 boats at that ramp in 30 minutes...we might have to get an earlier start.

I forgot about the check-in also...thanks for the reminder.
Title: Re: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Jared LeBlue on June 20, 2005, 10:01:08 AM
Is there another ramp or is there just that one right next to the bridge. I will be at the launch at around 5 and I'm sure the guys camping with me will be there at the same time. I believe if every gets there at least 30 minutes before launch time we shouldn't have a problem. Whoever is checking people in can walk to each vehicle as they pull up and get them checked in. It should go pretty quick.
Title: Re: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Mike Noble on June 20, 2005, 10:03:17 AM
That is the only ramp...and its a double ramp.  It does go fairly quickly if everyone knows what they are doing.  What you don't plan for is "outsiders" trying to launch and clogging up the ramp.  At our tournament there...we had a major mess with some guy launching his boat...he took forever.

Those of us that are staying there should be able to get there before 5 and get out of the way.  Just a thought.
Title: Re: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Mike Cork on June 20, 2005, 10:03:29 AM
We won't have a problem getting folks check in on time, I have lauched 50 boat tourneys there with no problem, just make sure the best guy at backing up the boat is driving :roll2: the ramp is a little tricky :roll2:
Title: Re: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Jared LeBlue on June 20, 2005, 10:09:32 AM
They had an idiot at that ramp when we were picking up for our tournament. He had launched his boat and tied it up to the dock right in front of the ramp. They picked up several boats on the other side before he finally got his crap together and moved his boat. The best part of it all is he was untangling his ski rope while his wife and kids sat in the boat. Makes you just want to go up there and give him a good O0 ~rant ^-^ O0.
Title: Re: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Mike Noble on June 20, 2005, 10:13:51 AM
That is my point...its not our tournament guys that worry me...its those "other" folks.
Title: Re: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Jared LeBlue on June 20, 2005, 10:16:32 AM
Hopefully those other folks won't be there that early. ;D But you are right everyone needs to get there as early as possible and not push the envelope. That will definately make things go smoother.

WE should't have any trouble that early, however wasn't it that last tournament that we had a guy with an aluminum boat that took about 15 to get in..... Just a thought but I was considering leaving my boat in the water friday night that way saturday won't be hard at all.......Dave

Richoos, I honestly don't know how that works, I believe since we have a cabin we get to use the boat slips right below them :-* is that true Dave :-\

Just talked to the lady at the resort, she said that there was no fee, only some of the cabins had areas to pull a boat up to. But there is a area that she said had some covered slips in it. But again there is no fee.

I know that years ago people used to have trouble leaving their boats in the water overnight at Toledo.  Things in the boat would disappear. That worries me a bit when you talk of leaving boats in the water.
Title: Re: Pre-tournament meeting
Post by: Mike Cork on June 22, 2005, 11:40:26 AM
That is aways a consideration. I know the facility locks the place shut at night but that doesn't help with all the folks that are in there. I would be more worried about someone sneaking in and finding my secret bait lo
