Title: 2012 UBCS in the books
Post by: Jared LeBlue on March 05, 2012, 11:08:27 AM
Well another one in the books and as usual I had a blast. Friday  night TCTC provided some Chili for everyone and Saturday night LJBC provide bar-b-que pork steaks with all the trimmings. Thatnks to both sides for some great meals and thanks to the cooks for taking the time to prepare and cook all that food. I wanted to put a big thanks out to all those from TCTC who made the long trip down south. It always great hanging out with you guys. Also I wanted to thank Southwest Beverage for providing the beer for the Saturday weigh in. The fishing wasn't so good this weekend. In fact it was down right tough. I guess the river hasn't quite recouped from last weeks floods. I sure wish it would have been better especially for TCTC after making that long haul. Lock Jaw won the tournament but TCTC put up a good fight with half the teams we had and the tough conditions. The results are below:

LJBC - 34.19 lbs
TCTC - 27.82 lbs

Teams:

1st - Darrin and Bennet LJBC - 10.57
2nd - Bryan and Jim - TCTC - 9.11
3rd - John and Max - LJBC - 8.44
4th - Mitch and Eric - LJBC - 8.38
5th - Mike and Laurie - TCTC - 7.77
6th - John and Russ - TCTC - 7.21
7th - Kevin and Nick - LJBC - 7.08
8th - Steve and Jeff - TCTC - 6.69
9th - John and Joey - LJBC - 5.56
10th - Bobby and Keith - LJBC - 5.55
11th - Jared and Susie - LJBC - 5.36
12th - DJ and Seth - LJBC - 5.09
13th - Jimmy and Mike - LJBC - 4.35
14th - Dwight - LJBC - 4.14
15th - John and Kelly - TCTC - 4.00
16th - Roddy and Austin - LJBC - 2.27
17th - Russel and Dewey - LJBC - 1.87
18th - Trey and Barry - TCTC - 1.22

Big bass Saturday - Mitch and Eric with 3.53
Big Bass Sunday - Darrin and Bennet with 3.48

Like I said fishing was tough and no one from either club brought in a limit of fish in two days. Although it was a tough one we still had a great time and look forward to next year.

looks like LJBC had about twice as many players as did TCTC, kind of a disadvantage

There were several people taking pictures so I am sure they will be posting soon. I didn't have time to take any but I'm sure the others have some great pics to share.

I didnt realize till later on that the teams were that far off  12 to 6
So we could just look at it as a regular team tournament  ;D

:-*I wish Jared would post the results like the TCTC guy did from last year with each days broke down

This was my First UBCS and I had a great time I highly recommend it to anyone especially if you like Junebug and Real good food    Really though a bunch of great guys  from TCTC and I had fun with them I cant say that enough I'm ready for another Flippin competion with Bass Buff and I want to fish with him instead of against

P.S. I highly recommended staying out of watermelon bay before the tournament I tried to be helpful to the competition so maybe I can get some tips if its up north some where next time.

Like Jared said I wish the fishing could have been better for those guys with that drive.
I fished a private lake today with a friend of mine in Moss Bluff and there were fry everywhere its close to the park were the tournament was.

Just want to say thanks to the LockJaw folks for putting on a good tourney and outstanding hospitality. Also, the food was worth the drive.
Unchained186, thanks for the heads up on safety and the local tips.  ;)  It will be returned next year.

Congrats to LOCKJAW!!!
