Okay, not sure this is the proper forum for this but it IS about fishing line so here goes. My wife's pointer finger that she uses to flip the bail back on her reel (spinning) and release the line with has these little bumps all over it right where the line passes over it. They don't hurt or itch they just don't look good. Could she be allergic to fluorocarbon? She only gets these during fishing season and when she stops fishing they clear up. Just wondered if anybody else out there experiences this type of reaction and what they do to combat it?
The only stupid question is the one you don't ask!

No matter how much we know about fishing there is always more to learn!

Never heard of it but I guess anything is possible. I would think maybe her line picked up something from either the water or shoreline. Poison Ivy?

This happens every year though no matter which rod/reel she uses.

Maybe spool up some mono for her to use as a test. Might be as Matt suggested.

Old Fishermen never die, their rods just go limp.
