I was just talking to a guy at a lake i was fishing. He showed me some of the senkos and some worms he made. They looked just like real senkos!!!! Im very interested and been doing some research. Where is a relaible website to get supplies? Also is there any info, or anything I should know before I start looking into this and buying stuff? He told me he heard a rumor that some guys had the pyrex blow up on them while pooring.

Thanks

Pyrex, or any other type of glass can shatter if heated enough, then rapidly cooled. I cannot imagine that some one would heat a glass container, then put it in something cold enough to cause it to shatter, but it could happen.  ~shade

At the top of this forum is a couple of pinned topics. One is titled

The other is

These should help provide you with the information you need about pouring plastics, and other tackle making.  :)

I seen some of the sites have starter kits. Which is the best? Im looking for molds that don't have flat sides. Full rounded worms, senkos, beavers, etc. the aluminum molds look better but more expensive. Looking for quality products.

I know this is not what you are talking about but my dad has been making plastic wormes and such for over fourty years now. He would get clay and form the worm the way he wanted it then put it in plaster of paris until it dried. After getting all the clay out, paint the mold with three coats of wood glue and ur done. I was a teenager before I ever bought my first worm. Now these worms will have flats on one side but its lots of fun trying new things. You wouldent believe some of the things Ive made over the years.
The bigest downside to using these molds is that you have wait until the worm cools enough before pulling them out of the mold. We made several molds that had 20 worms each so there would be time for them to cool.
The only thing more depressing than not catching fish is not being able to go

I'm thinking if you want fully round worms with no flat sides your gonna want to get injection molds and a injector. I pour my own worms but I don't inject I use a Presto pot which is probably the best way to custom pour your own worm. I also pour out of a pyrex cup. I get most of my products from Lurecraft.com and bearsbaits.com but there are alot of different sites that sell quality molds, both aluminum and RTV......good luck as this hobby is addicting.
