question on membership for feb 3rd...

My team was unable to attend the january tourney along with a couple other teams I know of due to the weather and such. Just didnt want to risk it with the lightning and storms. We plan on being members of the club regardless, but are we still only going to be eligible for big bass on feb 3rd? I understand if so but didnt know if maybe there would be an exception. I, personally, know of 3 teams that decided last minute to not attend due to the weather conditions. If we are only eligible for big bass, I completely understand that is how the rules are laid out but we'd really like to compete with everyone. Just wanted to check with you guys and see what yall thought.

Im going to let the Board members give you the concrete answer here. But the way I read the rules is that you will only be able to compete for big bass in the Feb 3 tourny.  However, You still will be eligible to get the points associated with your catch just not the 1,2, and 3rd Place prizes.  Thats just the way i read the rules.  Im sure some of the Board members will chime in with a definate answer for you.

Regarding your original question, FF86 was correct, According to rules para 4 "New members fishing their first tournament with TCTC after the January tournament will only be eligible to enter and win "Big Bass" & are not eligible to enter and compete for the 1st through 3rd place payouts.  This is for the teams' first tournament ONLY. All new members are subject to approval. Entry Fees for their first tournament are $5/per team (fishing for BB only). The team will receive their tournament points earned." you will only be eligible to win the "big Bass" pot on the first tournament you become a member and enter.
