Hey Guys!
My first ever bass trip south is looming closer ~c~...I am fairly ready on rigging but have not been able to contact our Guide lately as to line weights... The bass currently are holding on 5-10 fow on gravel flats adjacent to the river channel.
If you saw my big bass post...Those fellas were throwing 15# Sufix mono with football jigs/rage Craws.

Here are my std riggings;
DX 742 Spin...(hair jigs)...... 6# fluoro
DX 743 Spin...(Tube jigs).....8# fluoro
DX 743 Cast...(4-5" swim baits, Spinnerbaits, Swim Jigs) 10# fluoro/ 14# mono
DX 744 Cast...(football jigs/craws)...12# fluoro
684CB...crank...(jerk baits, topwater, Square Bills, DT4s and 6s)...#10 fluoro
705CB...crank...(DT8s-10s, Traps)...#10 fluoro
735C...............(8" Swimbaits, 1oz RedFins, 3 wire A-Rig)....65# Braid

Any ideas for line/rigging modifications for this fishery will be appreciated

Thanks!
Tom

I just got a reply from local pro and Guide Steve Hacker...thought it would be informative to post...

Your line types are right on. braid is great for the umbrella rigs, 65-80 lb. test.

Fluoro at 8 lb. test for spinning gear for grubs and tubes;

10 lb. Fluoro on medium bait caster for any jerk baits or plastics that might need to be fished

on a little heavier head (sometimes I'll fish a 1/4 oz. tube on a medium bait caster, and will if I need to go to a 5/16 or heavier head if the current is really strong);

10-12# for crankbaits;

12-15# for Fish Head Spins and spinner baits;

15-30# for big swim baits (like the 4-6> inch Storm Wild eye Shad). I doubt we'll fish any top waters with these cold temps.
