Still making bow and stern Led Nav lights for club members. Have come up with bow mounted strips with no mounting wires showing, doin't know why I did not think of it before. Have a set mounted on my boat, You are welcome to come by and see if you can figure out how i did it, keeping it my secret for now. No wires??

I love mine. Let me guess, you tapped into the middle?

oldjim

Wish it was that easy, still trying to do that, but you are warm.

Well not much of a secret as bassbuff guessed right off made a tap off back side. Still not able to make a backside tap off the PWB with one exception.
Strips are make of copper strip as the PWB and these are 19in long and soldered together end to end in 5 meter lengths. Where they are soldered together there are two small dollops of solder. Use a 15 thousands drill and from the back side drill into these dollops of solder do not drill threw the dollops. Use a 1/16 in drill to bevel hole and insert a tinned lead into hole and apply a second dollop of solder to back side. This leaves the copper PWB sandwished between two dollops of solder with a lead in it.
Drill two small holes in boat for leads and bevel slighty to accomidate the solder dollops. A dab of sylcone when assembling and you have a led strip with no leads showing.
Makes a much more secure connection and can be completely hidden from sight.
I have some of these in Nav lights, and I will install them for $10 a set.

I might be interested in getting those put on my boat.  How long you need to do the job and what is total cost?

oldjim

Its $10 and takes 15-30 min Depending on kind of boat. Will be hooked up to existing Nav. light switch.
