Holiday Park 4/19

Got a late start at Holiday this morning since I am watching my Wife's Aunts house in Ft Lauderdale. We got the boat in the water about 0830. We headed West off the ramp and fished the canal towards L67. I managed one pitching the reeds. One to the L, we kept on West with the wind. That's where it all started coming. Boats all around us, and nobody seemed to be catching anything. I was fishing with braid and and no bites to show. That's when I grabbed the Scorpion since its got fluorocarbon on it, and the fish started coming in. I started off with a Watermelon Red lizard, and the fish were killing them.

I managed this nice 3lber, who I thought was a bit bigger with the fight it out up. We kept on trolling along and just kept catching them heading West.

We trolled back to the junction, and at that intersection they were crushing the lizards.

We trolled the L a little further after the junction, but there were too many Oscar. So we made our way to the airboat canal and picked up a few more.

It was a good day, but it got hot quick since we got a late start. We called it quits at 1300 since I had to get back to Ft Lauderdale. Papa and I still had a great weekend again boating close to 60 fish in a matter of 5 hours. The canals are on fire right now down here.

Yeah. Sad news though. I'm out of Watermelon lizards.

Wow LMG you really killed it out there. 60 fish thats um...50 more than the most ive ever caught in a day lol.
Looks like you and papa had a great time. The bad thing is you are out of lizards. The good thing is they went to a great cause instead of just getting wasted by falling apart and not producing fish lol. I havent fished a lizard in quite a while. How do you rig them up? I used to texas rig em with a little weight. I think ive still have some lizards though the ones that seemed to get me fish at the park were the green with chartreuse tail.
