Lets get it going!!

Saturday, SJHT had 17 Anglers and 1 guest came out to do battle on our 2nd official tournament of the 2020 season.  LUMS SP .  The action was quite interesting being that we typically fish this body of water in late April but with the Covid-19 in effect...this was our 1st opportunity at it.  It definitely fished a bit different but still some impressive results.

Without further adieu, please give a big congrats and shout outs to last weeks winner and now this weeks winner Brian *SubFish* McCulley for 1st place and Lunker with 3 Bass going 7.48lbs. Brian's lunker went 2.81lbs.  Bill *The Hammer* L.  took 2nd Place with 3 Bass going 5.97lbs3rd Place was won by Bryson *Must Be the Boat* S.  with 3 Bass going 5.72lbsMiscelleneous was won by Mick *Come Late* J. with a Whopping 14.43 Catfish!

Summary:  LUMS SP once again showed what it can put out on somewhat the right conditions.  Anglers caught many species of fish but Mick hauling in that 14.43lb Catfish that somehow fit in his livewell was AMAZING.  The big girls were out and so were the cookie cutter size bass.

In All, 16 out of 18 SJHT Anglers caught at least 1 Bass.   There were a total of 30 Bass caught overall.    This was 3 more Bass caught than our time down on the Sassafras River.  The Lums SP Bass gave way to a total of 47.44lbs caught overall.  which to be 33.56lbs less than we caught 2 weeks ago.

The avg. weight came out to be 1.58lbs.  6 Anglers caught at least there 3 Bass Limit.  The weights seem a bit down but then again we're not fishing these during the spawn.  April definitely does make a difference.

So.....the broken windshield came about while hooking onto a decent 3.5lber in the wood pictured above...while trying to grab that freaking net and leaning onto my already crack windshield.  Not only did windshield shatter but that was Bass#2 lost next to the boat.
The next beatdown happen with less than 15 remaining in the Tourney...I proceeded flipping into some shade cover structure and Backlash.  While I'm picking that fricking knot out....what happens?  Mr. Bass returns and hits my lure.  I now starting hand lining my line while trying to keep pressure on the Bass...all up in the brush\trees.  By now, I have an audience of Kayakers and pleasure boaters watching and the some *itch* Jumped twice and shook the hook free while laughing at me with 1 Eye open and a "See You later" smirk across his lips!!!  At this juncture... I said you know what LORD, " You WIN".  On this day...the Bass won!  But all in all....3 different fights\battle made my day on the water that much more enjoyable.  I'm at peace with not so much losing those 3 Bass but how it happened.  I wish I could make this up but All is still well!!!  That's the truth.

Way to come out SJHT anglers .

Brian, Bill, Brandon, and Mick congrats and nice Misc.

Next up is COOPER RIVER PARK in 2 weeks.

I don't always post but I always read. I love your in depth posts. Wow what a kittyKat....

Sorry you lost a couple, but that's what keeps us coming back. As I tell my partner, at least a bass has a brain, all be it not large, I can claim it out smarted me. I tried golf once and letting an ball beat me... well that wasn't working LOL

Thanks again for another great report  ~c~ ~c~ Sorry you lost them fish right at the boat and also that you lost your windshield too.  :'(  It was good seeing you with some Bass in your hands again.  ~c~ ~c~ That was a nice looking Flathead kitty cat. That would of made some great steaks or fish chowder.  ;D

Mike....i always say we learn something new everytime we set on the water.  On this day, Mr.  Bass showed me a thing or two.  Yes...sucks about the windshield but little did i know that they were right beneath me.  A littlentime, patience, and understanding the structure  Around me compelled me to fish harder and get those last bites in the closing minutes.

Until next. Time Mike Cork!!

BassinLou....i hear ya.  Windshield had a little crack previously but the full weight and mayhem of the moment....stuff just got wild and crazy. Not too upset about that.   Ill be meeting those. Bass again and ill be prepared.

Thanks for the warm Comments.

Def a.nice kitty caught on a jig and 50lb braid.  On the bass note,  knowing i could have upgraded towards the end hurt a little okay...hurt. alot but still a great day being outside the house.   Our next tournament in approx 1 week should reveal. Some good results. Maybe even a snakhead.

Happy fathers day to everyone here at Ultimatebass.com and my fellow anglers.
