Fished a tournament Sunday on Cross and should have stayed home, because she lived up to her "Dead Sea" nick name.  Water temp on the North side of the lake was 45 at blast off and got up to 49.8 in one spot by the end of the day.  To my surprise, the water color was pretty clear everywhere we went.  With post front conditions and a beautiful blue bird sky, the fish didnt cooperate for most everyone.  I think we had 17 boats show up, and only 5 fish were weighed in.  Did have my cranking battery take a dump after fishing our first spot.  All batteries were fully charged when I left the house that morning and motor cranked for blastoff, but after fishing the first spot, it was so dead I couldnt even jump it from my trolling motor batteries with my battery switch.  Called my awesome wife and she went to Academy and brought me a new battery, replaced it and off we went.  I guess it lost a cell and just gave up on me.  Good luck to anyone going out there.

Cross can be brutal. I've been able to catch one or two here and there but when the skies are clear it's almost time to pick a different species :'(

Thanks for the report  ~c~

I was hoping for a little wind and some clouds for sure.  Came home safe, so it was still a good day.

Heard that one was a brutal deal... and a friend who fished it the next day zeroed as well. Cross is a fickle lady!
