What line qualities do you look for in a jigging line? I like a low-stretch fluoro for clear or stained water, and a high abrasion resistance mono for muddy water. I use braid around cover. Some people like a little stretch in their line, but I like a solid hookset.

Depends on the rod action I'm going to use.  My dad has a rod that braid would be a bad choice for...calling it a pool cue would be taking it lightly.
If you build a ramp...I will come...

I use braid on my pool cue (G.Loomis BCFR894 flipping rod) and when I set the hook on a five pounder it will be in the boat NOW!

Well I have to admit I've never seen a rod as heavy as this one.  It's a 6'6" MH Quantum tour edition but it looks like it started off as a 7'+ rod and had the end cut off because it's THICK all the way to the tip...and it has NO tip action.  It will bend with a big fish on but otherwise it's rigid.

Those Tours make the best Jig and Worm and Carolina rigged rods out there...I have 2 except mine are of the 6'10" Brown Wrapped Tours about 3/4" or more near the reel seat with little tapper..........I use them both for Strippers too...........Sorry  ~off~

Jig Line depends on where I'm fishing, the Structure and Cover involved......
On our tidal waters here you can use just about any color line you want, but NO Mono...
The stretch will allow the fish to hit/bite/suck-in and spit it out before you get the stretch out, and the hook-set..............BUT on the ponds it will work out fine---Mono

I use a lot of braided line here as the cover dictates it, and the structure well it pretty well eats everything else up.......On the Rivers............A Big No-No on the Ponds

There are places on the Rivers here where the only thing to use to get any  ~fff is Fluro and
it is practically the only line I use on the impoundments and Ponds, and lakes as they are
clear and the fish are spooky.............
JMHO for this area..........

Keep the Rod Tip up and the Hook Sharp

I will be testing out Sufix Performance Braid for a few days while I prefish a tournament.
