You could look up older heddon lures and make a pattern similar to what they put on a tiny lucky 13.

Straight out of the package, the Rapala DT series has a great looking bluegill pattern.  I'm thinking of picking them up myself.  It could give you a starting point.

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

javelin225ho

thanks dug, did your baits run right?

Dug

Been too cold to through them and haven't tried them in the tank.

Hey Javelin. Can you make a crank that only runs to one foot below the surface in male bluegill pattern? I would be real interested. thanks.

javelin225ho

yeah, its a Manns 1-.........i have 6 of them ready for paint right now, i was gonna do them up in reverse craw for Ebay. i could do 3 craws and 3 gills.....they are kinda small.  all i can do is try.  most of the bigger baits are done in the extreme detail because its just easier to do and the detail jumps out......i'll see what i can do.

check out the custom bait thread, i put a bunch of pictures of baits i can paint.  my buddy brandon had them on his website, but since its been idle for the last 8 months, i'll be putting them on my new site, if i can find time to build the darn thing......

Check out the new bluegill pattern Bandit is making.

check these out ....

http://www.tclarkcustomlures.com/productorder.htm

i see that he gets most of his lure blanks off of Janns Netcraft.  those bluegill are not custom paint, they are print screen over balsa....they do look real though.  if you get one, let  me know how it works.  if i am gonna throw a bait that looks like that, it will be a soft plastic swimbait.

The Bagley Coffin lip flat crank has a really nice bluegill pattern on it...

Actually I just tried to look it up and couldn't find it.  Not with a Coffin lip at least.  The one I have looks like the BR9 only with a BIG coffin lip...
If you build a ramp...I will come...
