Lake Bilby is smokin right now. If you can manage the wind you'll be succesful. Success came from any and all directions I traveled. Heading north you can begin fishing just on the other side of the first point you see. As you troll north you will run into shallow spots as the flat extends out to the east. continuing north you'll see brush piles/trees out of the water, they are surrounded by deep water. I threw Baby brush hogs and Jigs into the trees and pulled out nothing smaller than 21/2 pounders. Continue to move north and if you have patience every one of those trees hold fish. Again, a black and blue Jig.

If you choose to go west the entire shore line along the south side of that cove is productive. I start with 4 or 5 inch Watermelon Senkos or YUM dingers (if the wind allows) if the wind is strong I go with a 1/2 oz carolina rig, 2-3 foot leader with watermelon red baby brush hog. As I continue west, break out the crank baits and spinner baits, doesn't seem to matter on the color and work them through the trees. Getting to the end of the western arm there is a cove to the north that has creek channel running down the center.  Senko's are the rule of thumb in this cove. Most fish greater than 2 pounds two bigger than 4.

When the summer comes you can bet scum frogs thrown in the weeds and popped very slowly will produce. Watch your depth where the weed beds are. It gets shallow quick.

Til next time
