Been pretty busy lately, but I've managed to get some more painting done. Barry (crankincracker) sent me some mesh for a scale pattern and it really helped out. ;D I'm starting to like painting big baits. My Lunker Punker was pretty fun and I found a new clear coat to use. It's called Envirotex and it's a lot more manageable than Devcon. Plus it's not as brittle. So far so good, but I'll have to see how it performs in the long run. Well, here ya go.....

Popper for my girlfriend in a "Sunfish" pattern....

LC 350 Crank in ""woops"y Shad"......

LC D20 and SR Cranks in a "Bluegill" pattern......

A custom made crank in another Gill pattern....

And finally, a little preview of my 8" Punker in "Blueback Herring".......

The clearcoat is drying on that one right now. Can't wait til it's done!!! ;D

Bountiful Waters

Very nice work. Jordan, when the ice is off, go seine a ditch and see if you can get a few varieties of sunfish, chubs, horned poubts, etc.. Work on things that are not main stream. A good bullhead or yellow belly,  baby carp, suckers, etc.. Show those bass something different. You are doing a great job.

Thanks Jay! I'll probably end up doing that exact thing. I've been looking through all my old fishing pictures, trying to find some different bream my brother or I have caught. I like the seine nest idea- we used to seine for minnows and chubs all the time. ~cf

Thanks man. I'm working on a different Herring color though, so I think I'll change that pattern to "Dark "woops"y Shad". ;D

Dug

Love the bluegill patterns, great job!!

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

The paint looks great.   Make sure you do at least 2 coats of e-tex on you baits.   It's a very thin topcoat but that's basically the same product that I use on my baits.   I like that it has a little give to it and it will not yellow as fast as devcon.

Those are some fantastic paint jobs.
