Howdy boys!

I have an update on the Lake Egypt tournament on March 21.

Lake Egypt is not a part of the Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources managed impoundments and the lake managers determine length and creel limits.

We mentioned at the February general meeting that the Lake would like us to avoid using the slot limit.

They want tournaments to have an across the board 5-fish, 16-inch limit and we will abide by this.

Make a note of that and let me know if you have questions.

Just some info...

It's a gravel ramp so you SHOULD use 4WD. I launched and recovered my 18' Ranger 361V with my old 2WD Chevy 1500 (no posi or limited slip) I got her out but if it had rained much then it may have been a different story. Also, there is no courtesy dock (or even a discourtesy dock for that matter) so that means if you're solo you'll need to beach it. Pretty tough on the 'glass. Dirt (mud) roads the last 3-4 miles there. My "other" club (of which I am no longer a member of, thank God) used the ramp for a tournament because they wanted to save $3 and avoid the crowd at P Acres.

If you decide to make a go of it I suggest plotting a course on your GPS during daylight hours so you're sure to find it at o'dark thirty, pulling a rig.
