I made a trip up to the FL/AL line this weekend to fish Lake Jackson. The water level was slowly dropping all weekend and the temp was from 70-74.4 depending on where and what time of day. On Friday morning I hit the banks pretty hard and caught 6 fish all under 12". They were relating to emergent vegetation for the most part except for one that came off a dock. Friday evening I fished the banks in hopes of a bigger bite but nothing bigger than the morning, ended up going to deeper water and still no bigger bites except for my buddy caught a nice bream on a trick worm (must have been real hungry I dunno lol). Saturday morning we got up and started deep where we left off on the night before and still no improvement on the size. This morning I got up and started in deeper water than the night before throwing a black finesse worm on a drop shot rig and finally keeper fish. I kept two for me to eat and released the rest. Baits that caught fish this weekend were a black trick worm fished weightless, black finnese worm on a drop shot, black/silver rapala and a 7in. Junebug worm texas rigged. All in all a good weekend on the water.

Good to hear you found success in the bass' deeper haunts.  Black works well there - have used that color myself.  I've also found success using a small ring work in smoke black flake and clear black flake.  Were you fishing in the 10-12 foot depth?

10'-12' is where I caught all my keepers. Also Swede I would like to thank you for the recommedation on L&L Marine for my trolling motor. Those guys gave me better service than I could have expected on my trolling motor. They are the first the marine service I have dealt with since moving down here and see them being the last. I can not say how helpfull they were. Thanks again!

Glad all worked out with L&L.  That 10-12 ft zone is a good one on Jackson.  I call it the comfy zone  ;D
