Good luck Ed. Remember to fish offshore if you start hearing banjo music! I am looking forward to fishing the Bullfrog with your brother. Thanks for qualifing for the Nats. so he needed a partner. And just a reminder for the rest of you. My travel partner for the last three years at the state qualifier has qualified for Nationals. I am taking bids now to be your travel partner next year!

Ed had tough day, but so did a lot of guys.  It can still be done, Ed!  Get 'em tomorrow!

Today for Ed: 1 fish @ 1 lb, 4 oz.

Western Div. leader: 5th overall with 11-3
Overall leader: 16-4
Day one Big Bass: 5-2

Tough tourney with a lot of 1 or 2 fish bags.  Ed can still catch up and take the lead for the west, it's not over, yet!

Day 2.

Ed got a limit today to move up and be in a position to get 'er done!  He didn't take over the lead for the west but got close.  Tomorrow is a new day, Ed, Put It Away!

Ed was the first to weigh-in from the west, today, so check the leaderboard at bassmaster.com to see where he ends up going into the final day.

Day 2: 8-12

Total days 1 & 2: 10-0

Ed got another limit on Day 3 with 5 lb. - 2 oz.  and ended up 3rd in the Western Division, which had 12 competitors.  Not a bad showing considering how tough it was.  He was only 2 lb. out of 2nd but a big, 12-8 away from 1st in the West, won by Josh Polfer of Nampa, ID.

Here's a reason to revise the divisions: The west has 12 states and all the other divisions have 8 or 9.  There are 6 divisions and 54 states and/or countries represented.  To be even, there should be 9 representatives per division.  The only reason I can see to keep the divisions the way they are is if they can be justified demographically.

You'll get 'em next time, Ed.  You, Frank, and the boys be safe coming home.
