Was hot and clear blue bird skies jet skis and ski boats out in force 2 days of pre-fishing with 2 bass to show for it and I never put a one in the boat. Now I know why we always fished this lake in the fall in TCTC LOL

Game day I guess I eliminated enough water and baits to start catching some fish.  1st one of the day can on a pop-r.  The fish hit it like a freight train but after the big splash nothing, the pop-r was just sitting there.  Gave it a twitch and it kind of swam back a little,,,,, laughing I reeled in what must have been the smallest bass I've ever caught for sure it was the smallest of the day. 

Working the point out front of the state park launch I watched fish after fish nail the balled up shad but they wouldn't hit the pop-r, or my Watermelon Red Hatch Match Stick,,,, switched it up to an old black shad tiki stick by Wave and put my 1st two keepers in the boat.  Worked the point for way to long, with spinners and cranks before moving on to docks around the point and all the way to the dam and managed to fill my limit.

About noon I made a run up past the park to another cove and worked the rock point hard with nothing to show for it, went back to the docks and started culling up a 1/4 ounce at a time.  Finished the day with 20/25 bass but my best 5 only went 6.37 and was good enough to take 1st and my 2.68 just edged out a 2.46 for big bass as well.  Truth be told I was tickled pink just to catch some fish after the pre-fishing I had.  Pretty bad when the two teenage boys in the back of the boat put it on the old man in-between jumping off the boat to take a swim and try their hand at noodleing catfish 

Wish the fishing would have been better for everyone but was great seeing everyone who made the drive out.  Next Month is our last event for the year and will be a night tournament on Cypress Black Bayou.  I've posted another thread to hear what you al think the hours should be, so please jump in and let me know.
