I have been using my Diawa's for a couple of months.  They have been tested in multiple conditions, presentations and line sizes.  The final test was this past week at Guntersville.

In the final analysis it just proves that this is a great selection for my personal fishing skills.  I no longer have a backlash problem and also note that even when using light baits like a senko that the line returns back onto the reel perfectly without overlap.  When I am here at home the line choice is typically power pro braid in the 20 or 30 LB size.  At Guntersville the line choice was Power Pro at 50LB size.  At no times had any problems occurred.  I have used baits from unweighted senko style baits to frogs and then some larger top water and crank baits.  The reels were easy to adjust when changing baits or line.

To me it seems like these reels may be a bit more sensitive to routine maintenance and lube requirements are very important.  I don't believe this is a reel that can be used without proper maintenance.  I am now considering sending them away this winter for a complete service.  I realize these are mostly new but a good cleaning and tuning before spring seems logical to me.  another thing I noticed that they seem to pair very well with just about any rod and have not noticed any negative performance conditions other that the power and the size of the rod itself.

At this point for my requirements I rate this reel highly.  I would give it 4 1/2 stars at a minimum.  My only concerns at this time might be durability but that is more of a thought and not a reality at this time.  Only use over time will complete the whole story.    The price point of these reels in the $130 range makes this an easy buy.

At 139 dollars it's a no brainer to me after owning one. I'm skeptical about the eBay vendors except one or two I've bought from and they don't carry the reel. But I have to say when nats mentioned the americanlegacy sale I couldn't pass it up.

The reel is fantastic! It's the easiest casting baitcaster I've used stock. Btw you can go even lighter on the baits than a weightless Senko. I throw the 4" sticko weightless and have even thrown a finesse worm on a 1/32 oz weight. Excellent control for pitching and flipping like the rest of the tatulas but even better. I'm a believer in the Daiwa Tatula line, don't tell Daiwa but they are selling em cheap for what you get lol.
The size of the CT and SV models is just right for me.
The smoothness all around is impressive.

Rick American Legacy is a great place to buy from. I have bought all my Daiwas and Dobyns from them.

Matt I'm glad you got a laugh out of that comment.
