Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope you all are having a great holiday!. One of the presents I received was a Scott Martin TCS Casting Rod (Heavy 7'3"), mainly for frogging. I would just like to know the best braid for frogging because I've heard cheaper $hitty braid can cut up your eyes of your rod. I have heard good things about Sufix 832 Advanced Superline Braid but then again, I have no idea. I'd greatly appreciate the help and hope you enjoy the rest of you're day! Thanks!!

"I've heard $hitty braid can cut up your eyes of your rod."

Those are 'old school' rods.
Not the case anymore.

Seeing Scott lives in Florida......I GUARANTEE A ROD WITH HIS NAME ON IT IS .......BRAID FRIENDLY!

Nice rod, nice present!

And Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Markus, sounds like you got yourself a pretty nice frogging outfit. As far as the "best" braid, only you can determine that. As far as what has been working for me all these years? Original  Power Pro. 50lb PP hasn't failed me yet.

Like Frogman Lou said, plenty of good options out there. You will get a variety of what everyone likes.  I've settled on Tufline 4orce for my frogging. It's tough as nails and is pretty affordable at Dick's Sporting Goods.

I've been using regular Power Pro with no complaints. Is it the best? IDK, but most people think it's a great line.

50 to 65lb is your most common here in the South. We seem to have some pretty tough vegetation that having the heavier line seems to be more of a asset.
As far as brand if you put a poll up I'd just about guarantee you original PowerPro is going to be the most popular. It works and is reasonable in price.
Doesn't mean there isn't a quieter line, or a thinner, or a better color, or or or... Every person has their own thing some like different stuff.

Well as Steve and others have said, BRAND is a very individual 'perspective'.
I use Maxcatro for a very 'specfic' reason on ONE set up.
Else I never use Power Pro products.
Not because of ANY OTHER reason BUT I've found some Braids that work and have characteristics that I PREFER.

My every day braid is usually 30lb. test......8lb. mono equivalent.
Frogging, 50-65 lb. test.

BUT I use everything from 10lb. test for Pan Handling and Ned Rigging and EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN, again for 'SPECIFIC' reasons or attributes.

Soooooooo.
I say start with Power Pro, popular, good following and gives you the BEST BRAID to compare against other brands.
For frogging, 50-65lb. test.

Oh and look around the site, BRAID and the 'what & whys' of when/why to use it has been a popular topic on the site recently.
I'm sure Lip or someone can/will be happy to share the live links for you............I'M JUST WAY TO LAZY TO, sorry.  8) lo

Suffix 832 is a great 8 carrier braided line. I also like using the P-Line TCB X braid in both the 4 and 8 carrier style.

Todays rods handle braid much better and have less issues. And yes, Scott Martin designed his rods to be used with braid, so don't worry.

832 is good stuff in my opinion, Power Pro is too, as is other lines too numerous to mention.

I have used 832 in the thick salt marshes around here hunting red fish and it never failed me.  I do believe it is more of a Saltwater line, but that isn't saying it won't shine in fresh.

I'm adding my vote for power pro. I use 40# on my frog rod- hasn't let me down yet.
