I needed to get away from the house for a few hours so there was this new spot I wanted to try out about a 45 minute drive from my house. I loaded up the van with my Frog rod and my worm rod and my little bank bag. I had them new short arm spinner bait that I had just received from Dale I wanted to try out. I arrived at the small lake and I could tell that it don't get a lot of fishing pressure because there was just a small trail going through the knee high grass. I grabbed rods and my bank bag and my folding chair and took off through the grass with high hopes of getting that skunk off my back for this year. I made the 30 yard walk through the grass down the slight slopping landscape and arrived at the shore line and set my gear and chair down. I picked up my LSCR with my Albino LT Frog on it and made my first cast along the weed covered shore line and begin my retrieve. Twitch..twitch..twitch and then paws. I repeated this several time without so much as a sniff so I set down in my chair put my Frog rod down and picked up my worm rod with my 4" GY Senko Texas rigged weight less and cast it out. After about twenty minutes of no bites I rigged it wacky style and started casting again but after ten minutes without a bite except weeds on the bottom I took off my worm hook and tied on one of my new short arm spinner baits that I had just received from Dale and fan cast that one for about 10 minutes with a bite so I tied on another one with a silver blade since it was so sunny and started all over again. I still couldn't get any bites so I switched to my Nu Tech CrazyBlitz 1/2oz Black & Blue and still couldn't get a bite. I was starting to get warm and tired by this time so I tried one more thing I tied on a Purple Doc Irv's Gator Tail Worm 5.5-6 Inch and fished it both on the bottom slow and then burning it through the weeds on top and still nothing. I was hot and tired so I decided I would call it a day so I folded up my chair and picked up my rods and made the thirty yard trip back through the knee high grass. It looks like a good lake to fish and there's suppose to be fish in it so I will be back but next time I will wait for a cloudy day and a different wind direction. So as much as I hate to do this here ya go Lip this one has your name on it.  ;D It still felt good to get out for a couple of hours to relax my mind from all that's going on in my life right now. So until next time

Sorry about the skunk, bud.  Maybe it will be better next time, with different conditions.

Bass fishing is definitely not bass catching... I know how dedicated you get to a goal, as the fall approaches those bass will have to eat and I'm sure you'll be there to feed them.  :-*
