Blinking Recirculation Pump Light

Hello,
I have a 2012 Legend and when I push the recirculation pump button, it starts blinking and the pump doesn't work.  After I bring it home and everything drains out, it seems to work again.  Do I have a plugged line and the blinking light is telling me it's pulling too much current?  Other ideas?

Normally this means it's a bad pump. It could have vegetation in the pump that is causing uses. Pull the pump and check it for debris, if you don't see any then you'll need to replace it.

Thanks Mike.  What's the blinking indicating?  too much current draw?  Usually if a pump is bad, it just stops working but the light stays on.  This one seems to trying to tell me something and I've never experienced a blinking light on a simple bilge/recirculate/pump out/ motor.  Thanks again, I'll check for blockages and a bad motor tonight.

I've had 8 Legends over since my first 08 model. I don't remember when they went to the push button control panel, somewhere near your year, but I preferred the regular rocker switches.

Anyway the control panel detects the fault and flashes at you. So it's probably an over draw.

Me too really, I like a pump and a switch. Makes it easy to use a volt meter and figure it out.

Yup, bad motor.  It would start out of the case if I pointed it straight up, but if I pointed it down, it wouldn't start.  There doesn't appear to be any blockages, so it looks like a simple motor swap out.  Thanks again guys, now I know what the blinking is.
