Welcome to the Covid-19 environment of SJHT's 17th Annual Union Lake Open Buddy Tournament.  On a day where the weather was forcasted to be steaming Hot, High Humidty, and Clear Blue Bird skys like last year 26 Boats, a total of 48 Anglers came out to win the some of the Limited Edition and the ORIGINAL SJHT Belts!!!

This leads me to the extraordinary turnout and participation in Saturdays, July 4, 2020 event.

What can I say men and women?  Great turnout on the actual 4th of July.  I hope the small refresements and nourishment provided made your day on the water that more enjoyable.
for our 17th straight Union Lake Open Buddy T., we  THANK YOU.

To the SJHT members that helped with this event. Bill *Fishin Troop* C.....and Wayne "Moe" Sr. and Mike Copely  on the live-well checks and on the water oversight, Joe Reed on the Grill and Al Franchetta at the weigh-in Table   recording each teams bag.  I personally Thank you for easing the load and making things run as smoothly as they were.

Next, I would like to Thank this Years 2020 SJHT Union Lake Open Buddy Lunker Place Sponsor Alarms by SAFE-TECH and Gloucester County Awards and Trophies Located in Sewell, NJ at Total-Turf.

This year we also had a another door prize Sponsor by the name of Donnie Tomlin and his "Limitaker Custom Baits".  Donnie is a former SJHT Union Lake Solo Tag Team Champion who won our initial proto-type Belt when I started offering the belts to the Public in competition.  Thank you for your donation Sir!  Always great to see you my friend.

and last but not least...our very own John *Bama* Barrett.... Title Sponsor of this years Union Lake Championship Belts Alarms by SAFE-TECH and Gloucester County Awards and Trophy out of Sewell, NJJohn Nestore does fabulous out of the box custom type trophies, plaques, and of course the Open Buddy Tag Team Belts.

Without there continued support and generosity, SJHT would find it very difficult to keep the level of expectations as High as we put it.  Thank you Gentlemen once again.

Okay... Let's get right to it.  Without further adieu, Here is the official 2020 SJHT Union Lake Open Buddy Tale of the Tape

Anglers Launching in the AM:

Anglers and there catches:

1st, 2nd, 3rd Place and Lunker Champs:

In Summary: 19 out of 26 Boaters caught at least 1 Bass and weighed in.  There were a total of 64 overall Bass weighed-in totaling 105.55lbs.  That gave way to an avg. of 1.65lbs.  There were 62 Largemouth Bass weighed in and 2 Smallmouth Bass weighed in.  As one can surmise by the Tale of the Tape, there was a total of 7 Limits brought to the scales.   We had 1 bass die however a good number were saved and rehabilitated in our SJHT High Efficency Output 100 Gallon Oxgenated Holding Tanks with Rejuvenade.  On a very hot day, this was deemed as very successful.

Anglers reported losing some nice Bass close to the boat as they tried to haul in.  Some anglers caught them in there normal Summer hang outs however catching that kicker Bass seemed very elusive.   The total caught this year compared to last year was a slight decrease but that was due to less participants and quality of the size of Bass.  We had 5 Less Teams than in 2019.

Congrats to the prize winners and all that came out and supported the 17th annual SJHT Bass Fishing Club Union Lake Open Buddy Tournament.

Thanks again to all who came out on this 4th of July Holiday event.  I know you could have been in a million and one other places but we're just appreciative to all who showed the love.
