trees are starting to color.  seeing more and more 'red' up on the mountains as the hardwoods/maples start to 'fire'.  great fall day.  started out clear and on the cool side at 46°.  Water temps at 70°F and just a slight current.  Not quite cool enough/temp difference to set up heavy fog, but it was sure trying.

slight breeze had a subtle but constant ripple on the water.

went looking for shad feeders on main river cuts/points.  found them.  they were cruising matted weedlines in shallow shallow water (about a foot or less).  Needed the topwater to call them in a bit.  been using the chartreuse yo-zuri pencil popper for a few weeks now.  won't say it hasn't been fun.

changed it up from the high mountain spotted bass lake to the TN river today.  for a few brief hours starting just before the sun came over the mountains/ridges they were fun.  nice fish.  nothing huge... but this one sure was pretty.
