Location 1

Conditions:

Full moon
Temps: Upper 70's and humid
Wind: None
Current: None
Water level: High
Water Clarity: Clear
Skies: Clear
Bass Boated: 2

Arrived at the launch location at around 0630. Ran for a little bit and was fishing right before sunrise. Water was really high. Started with the HB. Started around pad pockets, and nothing was happening for the first 15 minutes.

Decided to fish the other side of the canal, working the frog, parallel, and as close to the submerged grass line as possible. On one cast, right as the frog landed. I moved the frog once along the grass wall, and a bass crushed the frog. Reared back hard and connected with a beauty.

Short while later, another huge blowup. This time, the big bass missed the frog but never returned. Few casts later, another big blow-up. Had the bass on for a second came off. Another few casts later, another blow up, and I connected with a decent bass. It was not as big as the previous 2 missed bass, though. After that, the bite turned off. Nothing nada!! The feeding window at this location was brief, but man, the bass that were feeding were nice!!

On to location #2

Conditions:
Temps: Mid 80's
Skies: Partly cloudy
Wind: 5-10 from the SE
Current: Running in one area but stopped after a certain leg.
Water clarity: Very stained, to stained in some areas
Bass boated: 8

Arrived at location #2 around 0930. Made a long run, found clean water with no current. Started with the frog, nothing was happening. Switched to a 5" swimbait, and short while later, a beautiful bass crushed the bait towards the middle of the canal.

A few casts later, another decent bass crushed the swimbait towards the middle of the canal. Spent the rest of the outing with just the swimbait, picking off bass here and there.

11:30 rolled around, and I had to get going. All in all, it was a very fun outing. Did not boat too many bass, but I did manage a few quality bites and missed a few others.

Thanks for reading!
