Took my 90 year old fishing buddy Al to Camp Far West Lake today. He is a great inspiration, I hope I get to his age, and am still able to fish like he does. He met his goal to catch a limit, and added one more just to make sure. It was a flat calm day, so it was not wide open fishing. Most of our fish came on ZMan Hula Stickz on flat rocky points.  We're going to Lake Shasta for 4 days in May.

Good for him, that is an inspiration for all of us waking up with those little aches and pains.  ~c~  ~c~  ~c~

Awesome! Let us know how Shasta goes as well.

Getting out on the water with a long-time fishing partner, especially one still going strong at 90, is time well spent. Good on Al for hitting his limit. ~fff  ~gf

Here's a little update on "fishing with Al."  He's been calling me to get out to get in tune for our upcoming Lake Shasta trip.  We have been to Lake Oroville twice in the last couple weeks and the Spring bite is really coming on.  It was epic yesterday.  We caught about 100 spotted bass,  ~gf and Al contributed around 40 to that total.  He kept saying he was getting worn out, then he made another cast.  lo We didn't get anything real big, up to about 2.5 pounds.  But if you have ever fished chunky spots on light spinning gear in mid 60 degree water, you know how scrappy they are.  No pictures from the last couple trips, but I will be sure to take some to share from Shasta in a couple weeks.
