Welcome Rowdy! I know you will be a great help to members in need of info, and help. All ready have a question for you.
I have a 98 225 Johnson Venom. The problem is with the tilt and trim. I noticed when the boat is parked the motor creeps down. I am thinking maybe air. There is no sign of a leak anywhere. What is the procedure for bleeding the trim and tilt pump.......Thanks

Rowdy

Best thing to try first with this kind of problem will be to open the manual release of the T-N-T unit, which is on the port side of the transome brackets of the motor. Use a really large flat blade screwdriver and turn this out counter clockwise. Its best to take the screw out about two full rounds. Then with this open run the trim unit up and down for a minute. Then tighten the screw back down on the manual release valve and then run the trim unit up and down through its full range, then snug the screw again and really tight. Be careful here not to let the flat blade mess up the head of the screw, but this needs to be very tight. Usually this will do the trick. If she still leaks down after this get the manual release valve kit for that unit and replace that, which is not a big deal to do.

The kit to order is part number 535340...This number may supercede but your dealer will be able to order this from the number here. It will take a pair of snap ring pliers to remove the valve and a small amount of fluid will leak out, but not much. Let us know if you will be replacing this if the cleaning procedure doesn't work and I will walk you through this and how to fill the unit back up...
