Pump out On 640LX

My dad has a 05 640 lx, and his pump out feature stopped working? he doesnt using it but since i had to sell my boat , ive been using his to fish my club tourny's, so where should i look first on fixing it?

Is it the nozzle type? In other words you pull out the nozzle on the sprayer to reverse directions of the flow. Or is it another separate pump?

it has a red handle inside the well that you pull out and turn on the recip switch.

I had the same problem. If the red light comes on when he turns the switch on, he has a bad pump. If it doesn't, check the fuse first. If you replace a bad fuse, the light comes on and the pump STILL doesn't work, it's a bad pump.
If it turns out to be a bad pump (and I'm assuming he has a johnson/mayfair 500 gph pump like mine?) go to cabellas...this is the cheapest i found... and get a one of the cartridge type pump replacements. Piece of cake to wire in and costs 11 bucks. It'll take less than 5 minutes to fix
