here fishy,fishy

I run a NITRO and have for along time, I found that if the livewell is not full, and you are in the boat by yourself it will pull to the right and sit weird on the water. Also if the engine is one or two bolt holes to high, the motor will lift the boat completely out of the water and you lose all control. The prop is your biggest problem, if it is to low in pitch say 19, 21, etc.. you will get alot of lift, if it is to high say 24, 25, 27 you will feel heavy and sluggish.
I would have to say the motor is high on the transom and you need to try a couple of different pitch props to check it out. Make sure your boat is tournament loaded and two guys in it. That is how you check to see if your pitched properly.

I run a 23 pitch prop on that same motor at 6500 feet of elevation. I think you need to go to a 25 or 27.
What elevation are you at?
