Info supplied by the Nevada Wildlife Division....

Threadfin shad have started to appear along the shoreline in some areas of the Boulder Basin, and that means top-water action for striped bass. Small striper that are chasing the schools of the baitfish are being caught off Boulder Beach, Government Wash, Gypsum Wash, as well throughout the entire Las Vegas Wash area.

Anglers are advised to use caution when driving the roads along Boulder Beach and the Hemenway Wash area. Recent thunderstorms have washed out the roads in a number of spots.

Extreme temperatures over the last week in the Overton Arm have chased most anglers from the lake, with Echo Bay recording a daytime high of 124 degrees last Sunday. The few nighttime fishers contacted reported the catch has switched from black bass to striper. The best success is being found around Stewarts Point, Ann Marguret Beach and the Echo Islands. The fish were caught on jerk baits. Some bluegills were also caught.
