There's not a specific board dedicated to cobra boats (and there probably shouldnt be seeing as how they've been out of business for some time.) However, I own one, and wanted to give this boat some love. Think of this thread as a place to talk about cobra boats, post pictures, etc.

That being said, I love my cobra. It's a "cobra viper 201 D". 1999, with a 97 Mariner 225 EFI and I believe a 25" prop. The boat, for the most part, is a dry ride. It handles rough water pretty well, and I only get sprayed if I'm cornering into heavy chop. It's not a bullet or blazer, but in my mind, these boats scoot. I have clocked my boat on gps at 70 with all my tackle, a passenger, full tank of gas, and half full livewells. The water has to be right to get her this fast, but it's no problem to regularly hit high 60's. I don't know if I want to know how fast she'll go with a light load and low tank...

I have noticed no chine walking. None. That's nice. Boat has no problem cornering. Most folks who have taken a ride agree that this boat is smooth as butter.

Storage is very nice. I have no problem storing all of my tackle and rods, with room for more. And the front deck? It's huge.

I had this same model before my Legends and like you absolutely loved it. Mine was white with the same black stripes as yours.

I'll have to dig through some photo's and see if I can find a picture of it....

Cobra owner here also . just got it this year , the guy I brought it from was less than honest , instead of wasting the energy with that put it into getting it in condition to be able to fish tournaments , new head on the engine , thing flys now, taking it to get gel coat done this year and new carpets . new trolling motor and electronics , should be fine . im only investing that kinda money cause I see the potential of the boat , liked the ride (when it rode)  >:(, fishing it tomorrow still in break in period. will send pics ...any leads on after market things I could get for it ??? like a new panel up front ??

PaFish, sorry to hear you had to deal with a power head issue but you'll love the boat. Money well invested. ~c~

Looking forward to those pics

No idea on cobra parts specialists. I'll let you know if I find any leads

NORRIS CRAFT 1

It is a shame they went out of buisness. They built one hell of a nice boat. Looked hard for one before i bought my NORRIS CRAFT but i just could not find one.

We've got a couple let in NW Louisiana but you'd be hard pressed to get them to sell.

I was under the impression Cobra top caps were used on the first Legends and were married to Hawk hulls. Correct me if I'm wrong, but fairly certain Cobra has family ties to Legend.

I'm not aware of that Russ, but doesn't mean it's not true. :-\
