Picked up this rod really cheap, what will it be good for??

should make a nice spinnerbait rod. also bigger topwaters like a spook or repo man.. the 3 power is a little tight for jerkbaits but it can be done .

Has anybody ever experimented pitching to light cover with a short stiff rod like this one?
