Gonna start pouring my own jigs, got everything i need, ive poured tube jigs and round balls but im starting with an arky style, wondered what ways you guys might modify your molds? Ive only found a couple little things on the interweb about it, like to see how some of you guys do your mods,

I thought of taking a Arkie/football head mold and sanding the top of the jig flat. After it's made, so it stands up more. Can't do a ton of modifying because it could change the weight of the jig.
If you can't beat um, go fishin!!

i would guess that over the years, i have fooled around with molds more than just about anyone.  a dremnel is very useful if you plan on doing any modifying of the mold.  i finally just started with a chunk of lead on a hook and went to filing and grinding to get what i wanted, and made a mold off of my finished product.  i do not know that you necessarily come out with anything better than what comes out of the mold to begin with, but you will learn a lot along the way.

I guess i always see room for improvment, maybe a slightly diffrent shape on the head to come through grass better, or over wood better, im gonna buy a couple an tinker with them, ive seen a forum of a guy replacing the lead keeper with a wire one, i think i might go that route first, i love wire keepers, and its hard to find anyone who makes jigs with them anymore.

be careful of just where you place and locate the wire keeper.  if positioned wrong, it can prevent you from hooking part of your bass, because the bass will be hung on the keeper preventing enough forward motion of the hook to hook the bass.

Its gonna be right where the skirt is on the shank of the hook, i dont see that being a problem,

barb up or barb down is the key here.  barb down is bad and can interfere with hooking.
