Water's up but the fish aren't

You'd think it would be topwater mania but it's not been that good since the shad population and blue back populations have gotten so much larger.   Topwater bites happen but not like they should be and size of fish being caught on top is smaller.

The bigger fish I've caught since it's warmed up have come near the bottom on swim baits, jigs, flippin' baits, and my new favorite way of catching them; cranking deep.    Man the fishery is changing.

Pretty soon you'll be hurling the A Rig all year with all the bait that's in this place.  Must be nice to be a bluegill and not really be on the menu anymore. :-\
