Looks like I will be joining the Ranger club. Okay okay it's an aluminum one but I'm still excited!

Wife and I are going over tomorrow after work to order a VS1780! I can't wait for it to come in.. well I will for a few months but man I'm ready!

Debating a Evinrude 115 HO or the 135 HO engine choice and we are going with a side single console and flip up back bench seat.

Well back to work! Uuggghhhh lol

Always max HP a boat, better GPH, better hole shot, better top end, less stress on the motor because you can run less RPM and still have the same or faster speed of a smaller motor and better resale.

And congratulations!!!!! Welcome to the family  ~c~

Congrats on the decision, and yes, always max hp you can afford!

It comes with a 90.. I'm trying to swing the 135 but 115 for sure is on the plate.

I bought an RT178 a few years back.  spend the $$ to put the 75hp on it.  Never have I looked back and wished I had opted for the 60.

fact, I lobbied the good folks at Ranger to see if they could replate my boat to allow a 90...  (they said no... but c'mon guys!  studying the CFR's and doing the math based on length/beam, it should be able to handle a 115!   ;D)

congrats on the aluminum ranger!  think you'll absolutely love it!

We are getting a 70lb TM and if the wife didn't need a bimini top $500 and the flip deck rear seats $1000 then we could get the 135 lolol... then again thise things and being comfortable with 5 - 6 people in the boat pulling a tube did allow me to order the boat lol! She is excited about gettinf a boat which is a first lol so I guess I have to just go with what I can!

sorry to add this...  when I ordered my boat, I upgraded electronics and trolling motor.  know it's prone to being windy where you are...  I have a Foretrex 80 and at times wish I had the 112 (just no room for the extra battery)...  never have enough TM when the wind is blowing OR the current flowing...

just another 2-cents y ou didn't ask for...   ;D

Yea it comes with a 45 or 55 I think I am going with the max offered lol at the 70. It's only a 17'8 boat so I think I'll be okay.

My sarge has a 17'+ tracker with a 45 and it does fine lol.. it's not the best but it works. Hence why I am going to the 70.  Heck my last boat was 15' with a 55# lol it would toss you out of the boat lmao

Congrats!
I've spent a ton of time on the internet looking at those Ranger aluminums. They sure look to be great boats.

I have not had the pleasure of ever ordering a new boat.  I can imagine that just going through the process of making the decisions would be agonizing.  Then the anxiety and anticipation of waiting for the thing to be delivered would be a whole other calendar slowing deal.

I'm pretty sure time has frozen as of when I ordered the boat!!! I can't wait for it to come in and get to look over and drool over my first ever new boat :-D

Got the call. She came in today.

Thanks guys I wil definitely post some pictures. I was told today the Bimini top wasn't shipped so that's a delay. However the boat is ready and we are going to grab it Saturday. We will just run it back over in a few weeks to get the top on.
