Will be heading to Broken Bow lake for vacation in mid June. I've never fished in that area. Would like to try to catch some smallmouth and spots. Any suggestions on baits to bring or areas to try would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I've only fished there in March and April, so I don't much about this time of year. I do know the fish on that lake love some top water. I've caught fish all over, but I prefer to fish up in the river. Lots of standing timber, and rock. Absolutely zero grass.

Thx for the advice. It will be a bit different for this Louisiana boy. I'm use to flipping grass and trees.

I know what you mean. This lake actually follows the patterns you read about in the magazines. It's just finding those productive lake points that actually hold fish. The water is super freaking clear too, another reason why I would go into the river. It's still clear, but nothing like the main lake.
