I went to Loxahatchee the other day and there was a guy with a new Bass Cat with a 400 HP Mercury, and a 2017 Ford Rapture tow vehicle.  He said he hasn't opened it up fully but it will run close to 90 all day.  Lox has a speed limit of 35 MPH so not a great place for a boat like that.  The boat was gorgeous, I'm sure we will be seeing more big bass boats with 400 and up motors in the future.  So much for the 150 tournament trail of the 70's.  How fast is too fast on the water.  Will bass tournaments every allow this type of power on competing boats. ~roflmao

Daaaaaayuuuuum!

Still dont get why you need all that speed and power, I guess its a between the legs thing.  lo
My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

Curious as to how much fuel that thing holds.  I remember my Gambler with a 200 had 30+ gallons to run on, don't remember exactly how much.  One tank in the back and one under the seat.  Curious if there was additional fuel figured in or if it still stays the same.  Guess I will look that up.

It's on the Jaguar, and it has a pretty big tank. 50+gal I think total capacity, IIRC.

Yep, 53 Gal

That kind of horse power on a boat so it can run those ridiculous speeds is nothing short of dangerous, immature and childish :o :o. OMG I'D LOVE TO DRIVE THAT PUPPY FOR A WEEK OR 3!!!!!! WHAT A RUSH!!!! ;D ;D

I've seen a couple of Bass Cats w/ 300s.  They pulled away from me like I was in reverse.  Not sure we fully understand the physix of boats and water w/ so much power.  The human mind and hands just aren't fast or strong enuff to manage the aw shitz.

Airborne is just fine going 70.  See y'all at the weigh-in.

That's just insane. 70 is plenty lol not that I would turn away such a vehicle.  Should he has some cash with that rig. Geeze!!

I'm sure there are  a few fisherman with the experience to deal with that type of power and the reactions to deal with sudden hazards on the water.  I feel most fisherman, including me, are putting ourselves at risk at those types of speed.  The boat probably comes with a HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH warning.

I think the warning sticker says "Caution! May cause sticker to peck out."

To each his own so to speak but a high speed bass boat? One may as well buy a jet boat if they want to spend their money just to go fast. I bought my boat to get from point A to B to fish, not to show off how fast I can go. My 150 HP B.T. P.T. 195 will get me down or up the lake plenty quick enough.  ~gf

For everyday anglers, I agree... But when getting to the good spot first could mean the difference between $0 and $100,000.... I would wanna get there first.
