first things first i didnt catch anything today like the fish i just saw at the boat show weigh in...man...beautiful fish...i caught 3 today and prematurely caught and released a few more...lol....caught my fish all on rattletraps...missed a couple on plastic and had 2 short strikes on a spinnerbait..even with a trailer..tried slowing it down but didnt do any better...but all the fish i boated were reaction bait type fish...very aggresive with their bites today...i mean they were hammering the lures...but the guy i was paired with caught 1 spinnerbait fish and 5 worm fish...he weighed in at 6.50 or so i had 4.20 for 3...overall good day...scottie...u got a triton and were wearing a red jacket? if not i waived at someone i thought was you... lol...well cant wait to hear what others did...Jeremy

Well how did everybody do? I caught a couple in Caspy,  one on a white spinner and one on a junebug baby brushhog. Both were maybe a pound. Just tossed em back for later.

Did your luck ever pick up Scottie.

I caught you a delicious bass!

Tuff....Tuff....Didn't do any good at all today....Only had 6 total and 4 keepers and they were on the small side...Most came on rattletraps, 1 one spinner, and 1 on lizard.....

Wind wasn't blowing on the bank I usually fish and when that happens I usually don't do well there...today was no exception.. :(

Tried to find some perch at the end of Caspy but no luck...Don't think the folks fishing the bamboo hung around very long either..

This was actually the first time I caught a few fish at the end of Caspy....wondering what going on there...water temp was 55 when I left..

Nice seeing you Clint...wish we could have done better in there....expecially with all those new baits... :( I do hate a thief...

Jeremy...Guess that feller in the Triton gave you a funny look...sure wish it was, but I'm in a 17' grey Alumaweld with 70 Yamaha..

Oh well...still was a good day without the fish.. :)

clint what were you in....i was fishing the western bank in the back of caspy...must have been 20 boats in and outa there...yet no one else really hit the bank we were working...i was in a green 190 pro gator...

Your right Scottie, it was a great day of fishing regardless of the action, we had a great time. Nice to meet you too.
I got to break in a couple of baits today. And managed to lose a  new rattle trap as well :'( tried to cast out a backlash and it snapped the line and there she went, out into the middle of nowhere.

I was in a white/green Javlin bass boat with a 115 Johnson. I think I saw you back there fishing too, did you have a kid in your boat?

I went to the very back where Scottie was to see how he was doing, I was hoping to come back there and see him tearing up the white perch.
I caught you a delicious bass!

b1jeremy

no it was me and an older man...your boat like a turquois? i think i saw ya...and scottie i got your number...i saw you back there and me and my buddy were like man that guy has to be on something...lol...we did get into some though...Jeremy

Hey jeremy....where I was fishing in the backside of Caspy around those larger dead trees....I did miss a couple on tubes and caught a couple in that same general area....

Could be a good area when bass come into spawn..

I've fished back in there several time, but that is the first time I done any good at all....

Fished the red today with my unlce in the webster tourny and boy was it wet and cold! We both caught 3 a piece. My 3 weighed just over 5lbs and my unlces was 6.7lbs I think.  I only had 1 other bite and my unlce lost one at the boat and missed another!  Winning weight was 15lbs and 2nd was 10lbs then alot of close together after that!

b1jeremy

do you recall the winner or second place? i felt for you guys out there today...what they biting on? didnt figured you guys would catch much..good job...you gonna join the club now?

mitchell

Fished the red sat from 0700-1300 and had one come off a jig in 6' of water. Kennyp missed a few on plastcs and his son caught 1 on a spinnerbait then took a nap and still beat us.
Take a kid fishing, the smiles are priceless!!!

And my unlce caught one baby brush hog and others on jig.  Someone one was using a rouge and caught over 15 he said. Oh and about the club I prob want join till next year hopefully. Fished the Red out of Clark's today.   Hit the water about 1030.  Was a clear blue day with little wind. Spent most of day in what I believe to be Bill James Lake ( had a boat launch back there and an old school bus).
Tried rattle trap for quite a bit with intermitten tube pitching.  No bites.  After a couple of three hours decided I needed to do something new.
Went to rocks on main river.  More rattle trapping, more failure.  No bites.
Attempting to avoid a zero went to Caspiana.  Caught one on a Bloody Bug Sweet Beaver.  Then caught one on a  suspending Rapala X-Rap jerkbait (silver). Both keepers around a pound and a half.   I hope I don't get my ALBC membership revoked for using such a prototypical Yankee bait ;D.
A slow slow day.  Hope others had better luck,
Jay

Hey DrJay...I'd say you had a GREAT day...  :) ..I had to work.... >:(

Think I got some of those baits you mentions too...ha

Was wondering if the river or caspiano had muddied up very much...

I'll be out there Saturday morning....probably wet...and may get some minnows and try for some perch too...

You bumped into a friend of mine the other day when you had fished all the way around the bank in Caspy to the bamboo...he was in a blue boat..forgot what kind... and caught 10 fish in that area but were small....

See you on the water,
Scottie

b1jeremy

Fished the Red today from 0700-1400 out of Clarks.  Had a limit in the boat by 0800 on one of my favorite spots down by the dam. Caught the first 5 on a 1/4oz chrome blue bleeding shad rattle trap.  Missed another one at the boat and had another not get hooked up after she hit it.  Went back over the area with a junebug zoom super hog and had one bite but had a big swing and miss! Next I went into the Little Nincock area and caught another keeper on the junebug super hog. Fished in there awhile with no more bites so moved over to Bill James Lake and did not get a bite. By now it is 1130 so ran up to Caspiana and caught another keeper on the right hand bank in the curve with a 1/4oz chrome black rattle trap. Fished in there until about 1230 then ran back to where I caught my fish this morning but did not get any lookers. Best 5 today was one over 15". two 14", two 13.5". Boat back on the trailer at 1400.  I thought after the morning bite that it would be on but once the sun came up and the clouds cleared it got tough.

fished the red today from 10 til 3 and ended up with a pretty good stringer.  caught 8 all together with the biggest about 4lbs.  biggest 5 would have weighed around 16lbs, by far my best day on the red. all but one of the fish came from about 6 to 7 feet of water around wood.  caught most of the fish in the port lake area.  bigger fish came off a watermelon baby brushhog. also caught a couple on a spinnerbait white in color.  all i could catch on the trap were small fish.
